I have an original Navigation type CD and radio. I am trying to find the serial number for the radio to look up the access code. There are a lot of discussions online about the CDR 220 type radio with a "TP" button that is used to access the Serial number. There is no TP button on the navigation type radio (Option 662). Does anyone know how to find the serial number for this type of sound system? Thanks

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I solved it by going aftermarket.

If it's a PCCM 1.0 you need two codes to unlock it. I believe the only way to get the codes is via the Porsche dealer with the vehicle VIN it was factory installed in. If you know someone with PIWIS they should also be able to retrieve the codes.
You should or may have one or both codes inside your owners manual. In mine, one code allowed it the unit to function as a radio, and another was required to turn on the nav, as mentioned above. The manual either had a card with codes in it, or a section telling the owner to record the codes in the manual, if I recall. I ended up installing the PCCM module, which is somuch nicer and works very well. - pretty easy to install, as well...
My dealer said they were willing to input the code for me (for $200)...but absolutely refused to give me the code. I solved it by going aftermarket.
Thanks for the replies. I didnt know there were 2 codes. There is no original owner manual as the car has had a lot of owners over the years. Ill maybe ask the dealer when Im next going by. Its a few hours away. For now the sound of the car is enough🙂
Are you saying you have the PCM 2.0? If so, from my experience those don't have a security code that you can input to activate them when installing in a different car. They are coded to the car from the factory and require a PIWIS to change. Look up one of the many PIWIS for $75 threads for how to get this system for yourself or post your location to see if someone near you would be willing to help you out.
