Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just wondered about trying to mitigate this risk having just replaced the RMS.
Leading evidence: 'Replace rms' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuse diagram' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Should you still want to crank but not start the engine and at least as important, don't want to inject fuel, then pulling the fuel pump fuse won't prevent the latter, if the fuel lines hold even the tiniest bit of residual pressure For that you should disconnect the crank position sensor or find a way to get the starter solenoid at the starter motor to close with ignition off.

Suggestion
If not, open the garage door and run the car 'til it's warm.

This why they say "start it, drive away and stay away from high rpms until up to temp." Doing this gets it off of the high fuel setting rapidly.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car normally spends at least 5 months in hibernation and I want to keep things moving and prevent seals sticking or forming to a long held static position.
I just want to turn the motor over half a dozen times or so every month to keep everything free, but don't want to fire it up and go through a full cold start wear and tear, condensation, warm up routine.
What is the easiest way to disable the fuel pump and or ignition to prevent fire up and flooding with fuel whilst cranking for a few seconds?
I wouldn't bother as I just don't see a benefit to cranking only a few times. Modern seals are fine with sitting and a very brief cranking interval won't really circulate enough oil to matter. If you are concerned about cylinder rust, then address humidity, you could also consider a fogging oil, but that is probably overkill.
What I do though is exercise the clutch and brake a few times a month as I would be more concerned about the hydraulic system seals and keeping a fresh film on the exposed bore of slave the slave cylinder.
I've been carefully seasonally storing various British cars and Porsches (and airplanes) for ~30 years and have only had issues with brakes and clutch hydraulics.
Agree with WWH. Mine is in storage 5-6 months a year every year. Only problem I ever had was the dashboard oil gauge drained out so it looked initially very scary.
Thanks for the replies. The one I'm particularly concerned with is the RMS. I've had two cars, admittedly not Porsches, begin to leak oil after a winter season of standing as I believe the seal stuck a little on the crank and perhaps suffered a micro tear on first start up as it broke free. It may have been something else, but on both occasions these were leak free cars that began to leak from the RMS as soon as I fired them up after several months of hibernation. I just wondered about trying to mitigate this risk having just replaced the RMS.
Expert shared don't do this because you will end up with high fuel dilution in the oil due to the rich fueling condition on a cold start. This why they say "start it, drive away and stay away from high rpms until up to temp." Doing this gets it off of the high fuel setting rapidly. Just what I've been told.
Don't bother, I say. The 2 vehicles that started leaking after sitting that time could have started leaking even without sitting that long.
