Just use a flat blade screwdriver to pry the red pieces straight UP then the connectors will separate automatically.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Last night I started the process to swap my mid pipe, all the bolts were rusted and some bolts were almost non existent with the exception of a small piece of metal fused to the threads. Every single bolt had to be grinded off last night. Then I got to the 02 sensors and could not break them loose from the cats (Under the car) so I wanted to disconnect the sensor at the engine bay. However I am stumped on how you disconnect these little plastic parts?? any pictures/advice. I feel like I have to do something to the red piece

POST 2Original post

The red part slides out sideways. Here's a vid of a Boxster O2 sensor replacement and about 1:18 into the vid the guy shows how the connector lock/unlock works. You Tube

POST 3Original post

Just use a flat blade screwdriver to pry the red pieces straight UP then the connectors will separate automatically.

POST 5Original post

Dam. I wish I had seen that video before I changed my 02 sensors. For love nor money could I get the connector off so I simply cut the wire and joined them to the new sensors. All is well now.
