Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Took the nose off my 2001 cab to clean the rads. Found an unplugged wire that I have no idea what it is supposed to plugged into. It comes out of the same area as the hood release cable. Would appreciate any help

POST 2Original post

May be the plug for the outdoor ambient temp sensor.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's what I thought at first but that doesn't appear to be the case. Ambient temperature working fine.

POST 4Original post

Where does the "other end" go? There's not much that needs a 3 conductor electrical connection near the release.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Feeds back towards drivers side headlight along same path as hood release cable. Certainly don't remember seeing it last time I removed the nose a couple of years ago.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Headlamp washer pump is behind wheel well so I'm pretty sure it's not power for that. There is is only one that I can see.

POST 9Original post

Does it have a factory radio? Looks like an aftermarket wire for radar detector or gps antenna... Does not look like any factory connector that I know of

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think you are right about it being an aftermarket product. I have looked at everything and it seems whatever it is supposed to be plugged into is gone. I'm second owner. Was beginning to think it was for a LoJack as car came with a LoJack receiver on the keychain. Thanks for your help.
