Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I then cleaned the outside face + barrels with alcohol.
Leading evidence: 'Clean outside face + barrels' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean (no glue/tape/weights)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. It was a lot of effort to get the entire mess clean (no glue/tape/weights) again.

They look pretty clean, maybe not as clean as "New", but darn close.

Coat the whole wheel, and test the stickiness - I ran into an issue half a year ago where the weight supplier cheaped out on the adhesive and they wouldn't stick.

Aluminum tape is necessary for any high-G or hot-brakes use but generally not needed for road use.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a set of new-to-me Carrera III wheels, used. I have cleaned them, scrubbed the crap off of them, washed and cleaned with lacquer thinner and chiseled "off" silver metal "Duct Tape" to get the old wheel weights, glue, and tape off. I then cleaned the outside face + barrels with alcohol. They look pretty clean, maybe not as clean as "New", but darn close. New tires arrived.
What are Pro/Con to ceramic coat wheels with Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armor BEFORE mounting new tires? Will the wheel weights stick to the barrel? Former owner used that silver metal duct tape to keep wheel weights in place. It was a lot of effort to get the entire mess clean (no glue/tape/weights) again. Or maybe silver tape everything tight AFTER new tires are mounted?
I do not intend to "track" car, maybe an auto-x or something, no HPDE events. However, it IS probable that there "may" be spirited drives in triple digits, like 3.4.or 5 being the middle digit. ...An outside chance, just "offhand" thoughts.
Comments or advice? What is your experience with ceramic coating wheels and having wheel weights stay on as intended? TIA
YMMV
You wont have any issues and keep in mind people ceramic coat paint before adding wraps.. they dont bubble off. Speed tape(aluminum tape) is applied on weighs because during track days the brakes get hotter than youd ever get on the street which causes the wheel weight adhesive to soften and sometimes separate from the actual weight itself.
I ceramic coat all my wheels and have multiple session race day in Miami FL hotter than hell and they stayed put.
Coat the whole wheel, and test the stickiness - I ran into an issue half a year ago where the weight supplier cheaped out on the adhesive and they wouldn't stick. In my case we yelled at the supplier and got new stuff, but if you don't have that option, scuff the coating before sticking weights and it should be okay. Aluminum tape is necessary for any high-G or hot-brakes use but generally not needed for road use.
