Suggestion

I absolutely would use anything else other than the stupid spring clamps that always seem to face the wrong way, always in too tight a spot, always leak at the very least opportune time.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I seem to have a small coolant leak on the aluminium coolant pipe just behind the expansion tank, on the driver's side of the car. I was looking at the diagram below and cannot understand which part number this is. Number 4 or number 5? https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/p...996/21/105050/ I am talking about the red squared coolant pipe in the picture below: Can you please help me? I own the C2 996.2 3.6 tiptronic. Thanks

POST 2Original post

If it were me, and engine is out like in above pic, I'd change every single hose&clamp I could get my hands on. Use oem type spring clamps, not worm clamps. Great opportunity now to do this easily and competently with engine out... Doubtful any metal lines would be leaking, more than likely its their connections that leak and run down the pipe. Unless the metal pipe is dented/crimped..? Or rubbed/worn thru..? Then maybe if ya got a tig, weld a patch in..? .jmo

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes... this is an old pic just to show which aluminum hose I am looking for. I will do anything including AOS when engine is out...

Bad idea. I absolutely would use anything else other than the stupid spring clamps that always seem to face the wrong way, always in too tight a spot, always leak at the very least opportune time. I would use a good worm clamp any day, anytime, anywhere, in any application over those damn squeeze clamps.

POST 5Original post

Have you confirmed it's the aluminum pipe and not a small crack in the coolant tank? I had a coolant leak in that area one one of my previous cars and found the plastic tank was split. I had to use a mirror to see the crack on the back side of the tank.

Yes it is the aluminum pipe. We applied some epoxy for now... Still need your help for the pipe, which one is it?
