No real developments except that I found one last digital record of its existence; on the day it was stolen (08/01) the thief used the 'Good To Go' toll lanes on the 405N (for which I payed $5.50).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys: Absolutely gutted, my 2004 Seal Gray C4S was stolen yesterday afternoon from my garage in Kenmore (along with piles of stuff from my house). Please keep an eye open for my car or any of its parts . I'd really like to get the thieving bastard caught.

POST 2Original post

So sorry for your loss...How'd they get the car, keys left in it?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They found keys in the kitchen. In retrospect, best to hide spare keys :-(

POST 4Original post

Maybe see if admins will cross post this in all forums? Post in classifieds if you haven't already. Sorry to hear, suqs.

POST 5Original post

Holy S--T!!! So sorry about the loss and the invasion of your life... I think I have seen your car in person so I will keep an eye out. I hope your family is OK (though I imagine shaken up)

POST 6Original post

So sorry to hear, that's terrible... Btw both of my 996 keys are already hidden in different places in the house, just to be sure :-) Actually I should do the same for my Jeep JK & the wife's X3. Anyway really hope that the local police will find your car in the next few days. Cheers,

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 15186082

Yes its pictured here on the roof of the parking garage near RTC4 ;-) I know I've seen your cars!

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 15186179

Yep, I recognized the location....your car is a beauty for sure. I just can't imagine what your family is going through. I hope at least your car will come back intact. 996 C4S is my favorite rear end. Best of luck with this and keep us posted.

POST 9Original post

"found keys in the kitchen"...well, time for me to find a new place for the key... Hope the police can find your car. That really sux! Glad family and you are ok. Time to get an alarm system?...note to self...get an alarm system for the house.

POST 10Original post

So sorry to hear about this! Hopefully they can catch whoever did it and recover your property.

POST 11Original post

Sorry this happened to you, but it's just a car, and your family is fine. But yeah...disheartening! Praying they recover it in good condition.

POST 12Original post

Sorry for your loss - how can someone turn a stolen car into cash? Hate to think about that process. i hope your are fully insured - our cars are more valuable to us than what we would recover from the insurance company- but lemonade from lemons maybe a chance to upgrade to a car that you have dreamed of for a while - turbo?

POST 13Original post

Dam, that sucks. I never even thought about hiding my keys.

POST 14Original post

Keep a large dog bowl outside by your front door. Better yet, get a large German Shepherd Dog. They also look great riding shotgun in the passenger seat. Very sorry to hear about the theft and invasion. That seriously impacts your mind and sense of wellbeing.

POST 15Original post

Wow... Terrible... Having anything stolen sucks...Having it stolen from your house is a whole other level of intrusion. I hope everything works out for you and your family...

POST 16Original post

What a shock to return home and find you've been violated. Hope they catch the ba$tards with your Porsche and other items.

POST 17Original post

That just totally sucks in just about every way imaginable. Fortunately our cars are relatively rare in numbers and stand out like sore thumbs. I wonder if your local PCA Chapter could put out a BOLO (be on the lookout) for your car. Porsche drivers really notice other Porsche cars. One other thought, isn't there a national database of stolen vehicle VIN numbers...or maybe the cops investigating have already done that. Sorry about the disruption to your life.

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 15187897

I agree, you may want to post the VIN# or at least the last four digits. I also let the local dismantler know to watch for the car.

POST 19Original post

I think these "silent, scary house invasions" happen more often than we think. My own brother living in Paris France had similar bad experience few years back. The whole family was asleep upstairs and the thief(ves) came through back door or garage's door and took his wallets, laptops, camera, cell phones & unfortunately car key as well and of course took the car on their way out. Luckily family was safe & they had insurance to cover most of their losses. Since that time, I always hide my 996 car keys, lesson learned... Cheers,

POST 20Original post

Wow, that really sucks. Have come home to a ransacked place before, horrible feeling. Add to that the loss of items and especially your Porsche worst of all. Here's hoping the crook is caught, car returned in same condition as before and you get some peace of mind.

POST 21Original post

Sorry to hear, what a shame. Sadly, I suspect your car is either on a container boat headed for Mex/Belize or in a million pieces.

POST 22Original post

Thant sucks, like everyone said. I reached out to a few people if they seen it or to keep an eye out and will DM you if I hear anything back. Keep us posted if they find it. Good luck.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good idea, so it is here and searchable, the VIN of my stolen 2004 996: WP0AA29964S620070 No real developments except that I found one last digital record of its existence; on the day it was stolen (08/01) the thief used the 'Good To Go' toll lanes on the 405N (for which I payed $5.50). The location noted as 405BL-NB04 (at 6:07PM) .. which looks like northbound 405 at 116TH Street toll gates in Kirkland. Probably went as far north as Lynwood given the cost of the toll. I'm still holding out hope that the car will be found :-)

POST 24Original post

Can you get a photo of the driver from the toll authority? Or can the cops?

POST 25Original post

Quotes source post: 15196480

You may not want it back given you have no idea how it was driven nor its real condition.

POST 26Original post

I was messing around with my Google Earth Pro to check out the Lynnwood area to see if I could find any thing. I think it might be worth a trip to check out this place...something Kompact Car Park...looks pretty lowlife to me

POST 27Original post

Actually, going up Washington 99 there are a bunch of small car lots to check out and this place looks like a secure junk yard

POST 28Original post

Just thinking they might have used your car and just bailed on it once to Lynwood, knowing that car would stick out like a sore thumb. Maybe repeat their trip on the 405 and see how far you get on $5.50? I know I would try it and would be scouring the surrounding area relentlessly. What better place to hide a stolen vehicle, ditching it in the process? A used car lot or some parking area, plates gone. If it points to Kirkland or Lynwood, or that is where you get in a repeat of their toll charges, your police department could contact those police departments and do a BOLO report. I know I see our local cops cruising around all night long running tags and whatever. Your car is unique and will stick out.

POST 29Original post

@dbjoe996 all of 99 (and I mean all, from mexico to canada) is full of garbage, ie: shady used car lots, hookers, meth heads, drug dealers, etc., etcl, etc., so that is no help. It is literally the butthole of washington/seattle. Good looking out tho. As far as SPD, they are worthless. Property crimes in King county don't fall to the bottom of the priority list, they don't even make it on the list. Thanks to Seattle's liberal politics, cops that actually want to police leave. https://q13fox.com/2018/06/28/seattle-police-union-says-many-officers-are-leaving-the-force-frustrated-over-city-politics/ (Yes, I know its Fox, no Trump supporter here!)

POST 30Original post

Seattle is nearly over-run with homelessness and the city policies prefer to chase out officers and companies.

POST 31Original post

I assume this car hasn't been found? My nephew had a similar issue. Bought a really nice lexus. It was stolen before he even had a chance to register it. Cops found it on the side of the road completely gutted. Not trying to add insult to injury. I really hope the car is recovered.
