Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I installed what looks like the exact same ones on my 2002 and had Hyper-flash, luckily an LED flasher module fixed it

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone. I found a pair of aftermarket 996 tail lights at my work. Unfortunately I can't find the box or any paperwork for them. Is there a way to identify what models they will fit?

POST 2Original post

Check this edge - DEPO's are marked like this.

Should fit any narrow-body 996 (not C4S or Turbo)

Thank you everyone for the quick and very helpful responses!! These are for sure not DEPO lights. The manufacturer doesn't appear to be anywhere on them. Yes they are! I will PM you shortly.

POST 9Original post

Anybody have a picture of what these, or other, LED taillights look like with lights on?

POST 10Original post

i installed them on my 03 they are MUCH brighter than stock

POST 11Original post

Those look just like the OEM that come on the factory cars. I'm curious, with LED having a different current draw compared to regular tungsten bulbs, wouldn't the car throw a MIL?

POST 12Original post

No MIL on my 99. That taillights actually have a mix of LED and standard bulbs for the different sections of the tail light. You can swap them around, at least on the lights I bought. A resistor of the proper size in the circuit will make the computer think the correct bulb in installed. I am not sure what electrical components are installed in the taillights I bought, I just plugged them in and they worked.

POST 13Original post

yep, plug and play there is a resistor that tricks the computer into no bulb out the reverse bulb is standard incandescent

@shmelvin, do you have a brand name or link to yours. I'm considering these for my 02.
