Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
The role proved to be the most prominent role for Hale, as the show continued to be popular for later generations of viewers due to syndicated reruns.
Leading evidence: 'most prominent role' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'most prominent role' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace also engine' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All,
hope everyone is having fun in 996 land. i hope to be in another porsche soon.
finally found the boat i've been searching for - just got back from tampa florida.
1987 Luhrs Alura - single yanmar 240hp diesel with bow thruster. only 500 hours on diesel engine. owned for past 15 years by retired airline pilot. in excellent condition and best of any i have looked at.
1987-88 Luhrs were built by the Hunter Marine factory and are 1500 lbs lighter than later models - they have a honeycomb core which give them more strength and much less weight. they cruise at 18mph while burning only 3 gallons per hour. top speed is 24 mph.
unfortunately these boats are on east coast and very rare to find one out here on west coast.
these boats have same hull as the later "Mainship" 30 pilot. the mainship is a beautiful boat but only cruises at 12-13mph and top speed of 16mph.
boat should arrive in seattle mid-november
all the best.
Sweet! Good luck with 'er! Does it have a IMSB? Has it ever failed? Has it been replaced? What kind of oil do you use? Have you replaced the water pump yet? Low temp T-stat? etc. etc. etc...

Congrats.
I've looked into getting a Reinell or Bayliner for myself...then I did the math and looked at how often I would have to use it for it to make sense...and said NO!
The sage rule of "if it flies, floats or f**ks- rent it!" is beyond wise.
'tis the illusion of possibility, that glimmer of hope and chance nestled up snug within this sentence that does germinate within a man such that this be the first of the two happiest days of a man's life.
'tis the shattered shards of glass of that glimmering hope and possibility, lay strewn about a man's life, that makes the second.
Congratulations! I'm sure you'll have a lot more than two happy days with her. I've been boating for around 40 years and have had many happy days. I'm surprised that a boat of that size has a single screw, but the bow thruster should be a big help.
I just got the first boat of my life at the age of 76yrs only 3 weeks ago. It's a 94 RINKER 170 captiva with a Johnson 115 outboard. I have been on the water every day in the last 16days and loving every minute of my boating experience. Launching and recovering alone has become a breeze. Groovsilla I love the looks of your boat. It puts mine to shame lol.
That's not a boater. That's just some guy that once owned a boat!
A boater (much like a 996 owner) has his happiest days running the boat. There is nothing more exhilarating than flying your boat over 4+ foot waves at 80 MPH. There is also nothing more relaxing than hanging out on the boat at dock or anchor, BBQ going, sipping an umbrella drink, some good tunes and friends.
Here is a video of my boat club running in the Pacific (feel free to mute the crappy music!).

In 1964, Alan Hale, Jr. won the co-starring role as the Skipper on the CBS sitcom Gilligan's Island. The series aired for a total of 98 episodes from 1964 to 1967. The role proved to be the most prominent role for Hale, as the show continued to be popular for later generations of viewers due to syndicated reruns. The popularity of the show typecast its actors, making it difficult for them to successfully pursue diversified acting opportunities. They received no substantial residual payments for their roles, and the difficulty in finding roles often created financial hardship and resentment. However, Hale did not mind being so closely identified with the Skipper.[7] According to Sherwood Schwartz, he often visited children in hospitals dressed as the Skipper.
Hale reprised the role of the Skipper in three television films, Rescue from Gilligan's Island (1978), The Castaways on Gilligan's Island (1979), and The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island (1981). He also voiced the Skipper in two cartoon versions of the series, The New Adventures of Gilligan from 1974 to 1977 and Gilligan's Planet from 1982 to 1983. Hale also appeared as the Skipper in two unrelated sitcoms, The New Gidget in 1987 and ALF in 1989. He also promoted Gilligan's Island reruns on TBS, alongside Bob Denver. Denver and Hale also appeared as their characters at various promotional events.
What does it cost to trailer or haul a vessel from Miami to Seattle? I presume they put some sort of "shrink wrap" enclosing the topside after the Bimini top is lowered?
It has whatever the nautical term is for what looks like safari windows on a VW bus.
And only 500 operating hours over 30 years? Can that be correct?
Cost to ship Tampa to Seattle is $7200. Gets picked up Oct 24th/25th. Hope to have it to Seattle by Nov 4th. Shrink wrap not necessary unless it was winter with sand on roads....and unless the shrink wrap covers the entire boat, it can actually damage the gelcoat finish from flapping for 3000 miles.
Planning on cruising the San Juan Islands and as a taxi to our beach house on Hat Island which is 5 miles from the Port of Everett where it will be moored.
Gnat as far as C4S hunting, I did find a nice local example owned by the RL member I sold my 2nd C4S to 3 yrs ago. He pulled a Groovzilla and sold it then missed it and bought another.
I dragged my feet and it was gone before I could continue to grind down on the price. No IMS bearing history so I was needing to deduct that from his asking price.
I'll be back in the saddle soon - I am leaning toward 997.2 C4S
Hope all is well with my fellow RL'ers
heres what the new boat is replacing and 2nd pic is my old uniflite "salty dog" - 28' single diesel with bow thruster that i sold 8 years ago.
