I replaced the short hard lines last year when I replaced the flex lines so hopefully they come off easily.

Given the work you have done already your in a good place, at your mileage if it were me i would not plan to replace the pistons, you can inspect them when you remove to replace the piston/fluid seals.

Thanks for offering on the rear set but I am going to just source everything from Racing Brake as I can get the stainless pistons as well as the high temp silicone boots which makes sense for me doing mostly track use.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This winter I'd like to rebuild my brake calipers on my 2003 996 C2. Stock Porsche calipers. Can anyone tell me where I can get a rebuild kit and/or what the Porsche part number(s) are for the kit(s)?
I have tried searching but only come up with turbo and C4S brake kits. I have not seen any complete kits for the stock C2 brakes, only dust boots but no seals.
Thanks in advance for the help.
All of the parts are Brembo, you would need potentially pistons, piston seals and dust seals, sizes are dictated by the piston size.
A UK link his store has the kits you need but you should be able to source locally.

I would advise on stainless steel bleed nipples and If your tracking the car do not bother with the anti-vibration shims/dampers or pad wear warning sensors when you rebuild.
If this is the first time the calipers have been off the car you will more than likely require new caliper hard lines which inevitability twist and bend when your trying to undo them.
Cool thanks for the link. I do track the car and have had the calipers off before but have not rebuilt them yet. Ditched the vibration shims already. I replaced the short hard lines last year when I replaced the flex lines so hopefully they come off easily.
The car only has 23K miles on it so I am rebuilding the calipers more for piece of mind and age than wear and tear. I was not planning on replacing the pistons, think I still should replace them anyway?
Last year I replaced all the bleeders w/ OEM bleeders. What's the advantage to the stainless bleeders aside from corrosion resistance?
Given the work you have done already your in a good place, at your mileage if it were me i would not plan to replace the pistons, you can inspect them when you remove to replace the piston/fluid seals.
Your spot on with the bleed nipples, corrosion resistance only, so may not be required.
OEM Porsche parts are now hard to find. Consider racing brake. I rebuilt my GT3 calipers with their parts and it was perfect.
Also, something to keep in mind, when I rebuilt mine, everything was still in top order except the external dust shields and a couple pucks. They didn’t need a full rebuild. Just a little cleaning and some dust boos.
There are a few good write ups, which I
supplemented with my experience
.
Overall, not a hard project.

Recently I ordered two full caliper rebuild kits from
Viva Performance for the Volvo"R".
Both Porsche and the "R" share Brembo brakes and rebuild
kits are rather hard to come by.
Viva doesn't sell P parts but from what little I know
03 C2 996 front caliper piston sizes are 36 and 40mm
with the rears 28 and 30mm.
The R shares the same rears but has 42 and 38mm
fronts for it's 4200lb bulk.
Only the fronts needed to be rebuilt so I have the full
kit here for the rears which I would happily part with.
If interested PM me otherwise check out Viva and you
can get all or individual pieces for the rear setup.
Can't help with any P numbers but gratuitous car pics below.
Very cool. My wife's daily is a 2015 S60 Polestar and my daily is about to be a 2018 XC90 T8 R-design (special ordered back in August, should be here early Nov). We have owned several Volvo's and they have been excellent cars. My wife's Polestar is insanely fast by any standard. Makes the 996 look like a snail, until the first turn at least. I always lusted after an original S60R like you have pictured above.
You are correct the C2 996 Brembo stock brakes use piston sizes of:
Front - 40mm/36mm
Rears - 30mm/28mm.
Thanks for offering on the rear set but I am going to just source everything from Racing Brake as I can get the stainless pistons as well as the high temp silicone boots which makes sense for me doing mostly track use. As long as I am going to the trouble of rebuilding I may as well do all that.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
