Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that performed work without a confirmed outcome

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace peace of mine, both actuators' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cause if green bits of seal material are found' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace peace of mine, both actuators' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suspected cause · Original poster
The latter is most likely the cause if green bits of seal material are found on the actuator plunger and in the oil filter.

sorry about the language thingy - it seemed like you were using the wrong word...my bad!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1341 doesn't mean that the actuator has "failed". It just means it's outside the specified parameters (+/- 0-6 degrees). It could be an actuator failure, it could just be sticky or have a failing O ring, or the cam chain pads could be overly worn. If you've got a Durametric, it's possible to activate the vario-cam while the engine is running to see if the actuator is working (it's pretty obvious). Good luck
I have a durametric and that is the failure. The green bits came out with the actuator solenoid, and the chain ramps are all worn out too, but that is not the failure.
Perhaps English isn't your primary language? There is a difference between a "failure" and a "fault"... just sayin'
Have you tried to activate the vario-cam in real time? What was the result?
English is my primary language and I do have three college degrees so I think I do well with it.
The CEL code 1341 showed up. The tool Durametric was hooked up and used to monitor crank degrees when the cam variators came on. It shows that bank 2 is fine, but bank 1 adjusts its cam angle at 3000 rpm and is stuck at that position when the engine rpm is dropped to idling. Reading of various threads revealed the possible causes to be solenoid, or actuator. The latter is most likely the cause if green bits of seal material are found on the actuator plunger and in the oil filter.
The engine was dropped to investigate. Up on removal of the bank 1 actuator's plunger under the solenoid, a long thin green seal bit was found. Cutting off the oil filter paper revealed the many small bits of green material. That clue combined with the Durametric investigation confirmed that the actuator has failed and caused the poor idle as well as the CEL code. For peace of mine, both actuators were changed.
The Porsche dealer sold me a wrong bank 2 actuator and would not take it back. So I am now stuck with an extra $1000 bank 2 actuator that I need to sell on here or ebay. I needed to know which CEL code would be thrown if bank 2 actuator fails so I can properly write an ad. Thanks for the information.
Bummer... sorry about the language thingy - it seemed like you were using the wrong word...my bad! So anyway, it looks as though you've done all the investigative work you need. Good luck selling the (wrong) actuator - it sucks the dealer wouldn't take it back. As stated in an earlier reply 1325 should be the proper fault code.
