My guess is the wheels that the regulator moves the window up and down on are wearing out and I will need to replace the regulator before it craps the bed and I cant get the window back up.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Its a 2000 996, its getting old, and I know this stuff can happen... anyone have any insight? My guess is the wheels that the regulator moves the window up and down on are wearing out and I will need to replace the regulator before it craps the bed and I cant get the window back up. Would love to hear from you folks.

POST 2Original post

That happened to me on the passenger side. Finally stuck down. Regulator. My drivers side is making same noise. Will wait until it fails.

good to know. Just wondering how long it took to fail. My squeaking just started today.

POST 4Original post

Replace regulator and only use a OEM regulator. The cheap ones will fail in short order.

POST 5Original post

It took a year of off and on use to break. Hope that helps. My mechanic also said stay away from the cheap replacements, buy the OEM.

blob: https://util.clipchamp.com/5fa95936-...2-5c38a628da74 does it sound like this? I was hoping it was just old rubber molding. both windows do this when over 70 degrees.
