Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On my 03 C4S, the instrument binnacle or pod that contains the speedo etc, does not fit very well on its extreme passenger side edge. You can actually see a little light at the edge and if you are cleaning dash, duster gets caught in gap so its not flush. I did remove hazard warning switch surround and loosen retaining screw, apply downward pressure and re-tighten and this helped a little. Is this common ? Anyone else has this issue ? Could replacing the friction type fittings help ? Welcome any input. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Neither of my cars has a gap like that. The pod also snaps into spring clips in the dash assembly. You could remove and reinstall it to see if perhaps it isn't all the way snapped into the clips, or if any are missing.

Do you have a picture? That would help a lot.

Good suggestion ! I will replace the 'snap clips' as a matter of course but will also get a picture.

POST 5Original post

Like this? That's the way mine fits and I just assumed it was normal, and perhaps leaving space for the thickness of leather on cars that have full leather dash. I've had mine off and reinstalled it a couple times so I know it's on there right. Doesn't bother me. In fact I think it adds interest, as the instrument cluster sort of "floats" above the dash and has a 3-dimensional feel.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yup That is it exactly. I guess its normal. Well 996 normal :-) Thanks.
