Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am selling a nice set of wheels that were on my 2005 997 car... they fit perfect with NO spacers needed. The new potential buyer has a 1999 996 and was curious if they would fit. I am less familiar with the 996 cars, offset differences etc... Here is the data on my wheels.... with offsets and pics when they were on my 997. Any help would be great, have a pending ebay offer now. https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...w-pirelli.html pains me to sell them for what I am about to accept but onto other mods!....

POST 2Original post

The offset is off a little but it's the 20s that are a bad idea on a 996. Most people who try 19's usually bump back down to 18's after awhile for street or track use.

POST 3Original post

IMHO, not only is the outer diameter of the 20" tires going to be a problem, but the narrow body 996 was not designed to handle the 11" 58ET wide wheels. That brings the wheels to about 7mm closer to the edge which could cause the tires to bang against the fender's edge and the extra inch of width could pose a problem for suspension components. Am I wrong here Slakker?

I'm running 12" et 65 on my track wheels. With 315s (which are meant for 11.5" wheels) it works pretty well. But I'm definitely maxed out in both directions.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys. Would it be safe to say they will fit then? Less looking to open a debate on if 20' are the right wheels on a 996 as that's the buyers call not mine. Sounds like he wants 20s etc and only major question is if they would fit ok? Thanks again. Much appreciated
