Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Wondering if anyone has experience removing headlight covers? I have Litronics with hazing as well as a leak that has shorted turnsignal.
They look in some places like just a sticker, but in other places look like metal.
I've seen some past posts suggesting WD-40 or a hairdryer or dental floss, but wondering if anyone has actually done it?

I assume you are aware that they are aftermarket? All the ones I have seen stick on, so prolly your hair dryer and dental floss idea is good.
Will the headlights still pop out of the housing with those covers on? It looks like they will. Try popping out the lights and then getting those covers off. Should be easier to get under the edges of them that way.
Thanks Mike. Absolutely aware that they are aftermarket, that's why I'd like to take them off!
Have you heard of anyone who has done this successfully?
No, but I modified my original post with a suggestion to pop out the lights first.
Oh, was going to mention, monofilament fishing line works way better than floss for this type of project.
is that a cover ? looks more like painted headlights to me. Hard to tell on the pics.
The leaking part on your headlight may be your biggest problem... as you may have to remove the cover anyways.
In case you are interested I have a set of headlights I bought from the junkyard, they look brand new, but the only piece that can be used is the front lens. as they comes form a crashed car and a few housing tabs were broken and xenon piece ripped out by some vandal. I had planned to transplant the lens onto my car litronic headlights which were blemished, but I ended up restoring my headlight with great results so I don't need these anymore.
in case you damage the headlight cover in your process pm me for details.
I have them, and put them on with silicone adhesive. Definitely take them out of the car first. A hair dryer and some fishing line will be your best friends. Work slowly. Getting the covers off will be the easy part. Cleaning up the lenses will be harder, but doable.
Pulled the headlight today, and very confused by what I found inside: headlight washer cover silicone'd on, with no washer assembly behind it!
I started a new post for it here:
