does anyone have any recommendations on sources of paint & primer for the 996 ? I haven't painted a car in 20 years but have access to a booth and all the gear . I am not looking to do the whole car , I have a bumper and side skirts , I thought I might just paint and fit them myself. I just finished hvlp painting my 40 foot sailboat with epoxy primer & polyurethane topsides (awlgrip) so have my head in painting mode . I am looking for a source/ brand recommendation of oem match paint & primer Thanks Zac

I've gotten touch-up paint from these guys https://www.paintscratch.com/cgi-bin/order-form.cgi that's very good. I can't say that I painted a whole bumper or panel though... Good luck

go to a paint supply store and pick your brand. use a good quality primer if theres any body work. ask the store for recommendations of prep materials. paint will be base coat, clear coat. like ppg, rm, etc. Dont go with a cheap paint, use the name brands. Base will be 50/50 reducer. clears will vary additives but contain reducer and hardener and flex for bumpers.

My info is these are the 3 paints used by Porsche: Glasurit (BASF) Spies Hecker (Dupont) Standox (Dupont) For metai flake paints, like arctic silver, it is important to use the same brand of paint. The size/shape of the metal flake is controlled by the paint maker. The orientiation of the flakes is controlled by the gun, the painter, the temperature, humidity, and alignment of the major planets.
