Suggestion

We each have to make our own decisions as to our children, but my experience with my son's old carseat in the front was that as long as it was strapped in good (using the lap belt) it didn't move a significant amount.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Has anyone tried to install a top tether anchor in a US 996 c2 cab? I think they are mandatory in Canada so hopefully it should be a simple process with out drilling or welding. (I am not comfortable having my son front facing without tether anchor, and he is to young for booster).

POST 2Original post

Are you sure there isn't a tether there? They are located UNDER the carpet on the back shelf.

That is for the coupe. The Cab doesn't have a shelf back there. I have never looked at a Cab up close so I have no idea about that anchor being there or not though. We each have to make our own decisions as to our children, but my experience with my son's old carseat in the front was that as long as it was strapped in good (using the lap belt) it didn't move a significant amount. Even under a few near-panic stops it stayed put. I never put the seat in the back as it didn't fit with enough room that I could be confident about getting it strapped in though. Riding up front is also a big part of it being his favorite car
