Here is another brain teaser, Tell me what was wrong. 2000 996 3.4 with Egas. The cruise control would quit intermittently, stopping the car and restarting it would bring it back but it would quit again randomly. There was a recurring code 1574 in the powertrain module, Brake switch implausible. The brake lamp switch had been replaced multiple times for the code in the PCM. that never fixed it. Good input signal to the PCM from the brake light switch as read off the scanner. Hint the problem was in the circuit going from the brake switch to the pcm, but it was not shorted or open.
