Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Check your fuses first, then checked the light itself with a battery tester or multimeter as mentioned.
Leading evidence: 'Check light itself' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuses first' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Noticed my license plate lights were out. Picked up some Sylvania LED lights.
They didn't work. Reversed them and still didn't work.
I'll check for power tomorrow with a volt meter.
In the meantime, is there a US fuse for those? I saw bank A slot 8 was for license plate lights but in Canada only. Is there any reason why LEDs wouldn't work?
Check for power at the connectors to the lights with a multimeter. If you have power and ground, they should work. If you don't have power, work your way back through the circuit, verifying that connectors are seated, fuses are intact, and the light switch is both turned on and functioning correctly.
Mine broke. Had to get the whole enclosure from Porsche parts. Not a hard thing to fix. Check your fuses first, then checked the light itself with a battery tester or multimeter as mentioned. Personally, these lights are as pointless as nipples on a bull... just like headlight washers and footwell lighting. I don't want to see my feet nor my wife's feet. Her feet look like a gorillas. May explain a lot about her family.
Mine were not working also..
Even with a multimeter I couldnt get a reading but the fuse was okay.
I had to use a sandpaper on each element and now they work perfectly.
Just a little detail dont use contact cleaner on theses as it could get in contact with the plastic and make it crack... ask me how I know...
I put cheapo led in mine and it burned out melting the casing. Bought a new one from Pelican and it still does not work. Since the one on the left works I have not chased it anymore but I am thinking the wire may have burned also. I will remove the bumper at some point and check it out.
Low and behold my mechanic forgot to connect the license plate wiring harness to the connector inside the bumper. Sigh...
But with some luck, a $15 Android borescope and a coat hanger, I was able to re-connect.
I'd hate getting pulled over and having a ticket issued for something so stupid. Stupid in that they are not really useful and stupid because it was a forgotten step.
At least you'll know for next time!
Hardest part is finding someone to help you put it back on... If you're careful it can be done alone but its easier with a second set of hands.
Funny thing is, I bought this borescope 6 months ago thinking it was a cool toy. Turns out I use this thing all the time for all sorts of things.
Well worth the $15 ... and it saved me f-ing up my bumper. lol
