Hi all, had the CEL light come on and the message Check engine Drive to workshop while driving 2 days ago. Downshifted and gave the car a bit of gas, 3rd to 2nd shift from about 3500 rpm. No where near redline... Solid CEL and the above message, never flashed and went off with in 30 seconds. Basically coasted down the mountain road I was on a gingerly drove the 1.5 miles home. Car was running a bit rough and sounded different. By all accounts from what I read it was safe to start and drive the car so I did so just a bit ago to get the CEL read down the street at O'riely auto parts. CEL came back on and was flashing this time so I immediately turned the car off. Went and bought a code reader. 2 codes p03327 and p0301. First is knock sensor, second it misfire in number 1. Sounds like rodent damage can be the cause for the knock sensor? Would the knock sensor cause the misfire? Thank you guys.

I just had this same CEL a few months ago. Started running rougher and rougher to the point where I thought the car would shake itself apart. At any rate brought it in and it turned out to be bad ignition coil tubes and a bad O2 sensor. Replaced them all and all is good again.

Update: Changed out my plugs and Coil packs and the CEL's have not returned. Plugs were about 21K miles old and the Coil packs were original as far as I can tell...no mention of replacement in the big binder of maintenance records that came with the car. Serious pain in the butt job, especially Cylinder 4, but doable even for a non mechanic like me.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
