Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

38 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 2Original post

I’d like to pick up a 99. Don‘t know where I’d park it though.

POST 3Original post

Quotes source post: 15314809

I have room in my driveway!

POST 6Original post

Purchasing my early 99 was not really intentional, it just worked out that way. I have really enjoyed it.

POST 7Original post

Thanks for posting. Not a bad little article. Mike

POST 8Original post

I like the 99 911 the best mainly for the orange in the headlights and orange/red tail lights. That was the only year of the drive by cable, correct?

POST 9Original post

1998 has a cable throttle plus cable release frunk and engine lid. WOOT!

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a MY 2000 with a 12/99 build date and it has e gas but cable release frunk and engine lid

POST 11Original post

I have a 6/99 build date and have cable gas, cable engine, and cable frunk. I feel like I'm part of the cool kids now!

POST 12Original post

Good to see some favorable press on the 996. I have nothing else to compare to but I do love my '99

POST 15Original post

Love my 1999 lapis lazuli 996. I was not aware of the double row IMS, cable throttle and lid when I purchased this amazing car 5 years ago.

POST 16Original post

I think slowly people will realize the true value on the 996s... It is incredible how everybody forgets that this is a better car than a 993 in all possible measures

POST 17Original post

Noooo! Stay away everyone, now it's going to cost more to replace when my 996 dies by one of its 27000 modes of failure.

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 15314950

ditto.. loving my 3/98 911 I'm enjoying the press though. every word of it is true too

POST 19Original post

Love my 99. The original owner opted for full leather and deviated stitching nad a bunch of other interior nonsense, but no traction control. It is a blast on the track!

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 15315328

Awesome!... Which kind of front bumper do you have on it?

POST 22Original post

Quotes source post: 15321731

It is a Strosek bumper and wing/decklid

POST 23Original post

I love how the car looks like! Do you have more pics?

POST 24Original post

Well, that makes me feel better about my Lapis blue 99 Cab I bought. Though reading these forums makes me feel like I am driving a ticking time bomb engine wise. I stopped by and talked with Waren out in Sealy and he just said drive the car and enjoy it.

POST 25Original post

Yeah, I understand worrying. But I drive mine daily in Houston. (59 & BW8) You have a better chance of being run over by a Ford 250 4x4 than having a catastrophic failure. I cant make the LSRPCA GTG tomorrow(getting new Michelin Pilot 4S tires) but maybe we will run into each other soon.

POST 26Original post

I look forward to meeting other local owners.

POST 32Original post

Just did the museum tour in Stuttgart yesterday and there was ZERO love for the 996. Only one on display was the wretched custom blue 996 given to them by Pixar after the Cars movie. Truly hideous.

POST 33Original post

Quotes source post: 15314950

same here, I really wanted a C4S, but a one owner black on black C2 with LSD and 34k miles showed up and I had to pull the trigger. Found out after I bought it that the IMS was done as well. 🤗

Nice. I was negotiating with a dealer on a 2002 blue over grey coupe. He wouldn't budge on the price and i thought it was a little high. Mine popped up on the local Craigslist

POST 35Original post

Mine is blue with tan leather and burl wood cab with 102,000 miles on it.

POST 36Original post

Does anyone know much about this car? https://www.euromotorwerkssandiego.c...df6d12f6632061 The owner seemed a little standoff-ish, but that can be ignored for the right car at the right price. The price seems too good for me for the mileage and year.
