Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Getting ready for a track day on Friday. Just replaced the Alternator and RMS. After the wax has cured will suit her up in Speed Lingerie. Should be a good time .

POST 2Original post

Looks great, but I have 2 questions... 1. Why do all the washing and waxing before tracking ? Doesn't it just get dirty really fast ? 2. Do you really track a convertible ?? I always thought they weren't stiff enough.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 15319676

Thanks! I do it for two reasons it protects it and makes it much easier to clean. Yes I have tracked this car many times. I believe because it is a Porsche it is much more rigid than your average convertible. I have also modified the suspension to reduce body roll and enhance grip. While it might not be as well suited as a non-Cabrio 911 its pretty quick and a ton of fun. Nothing like the sound with the top down hammering it down the straight at Roebling at 140.

POST 5Original post

Looks fantastic! I even really like the headlight covers! (Which is rare for me) i am going to embark on the all day detail tomorrow for Rennsport Reunion. It it is a proven fact that when your car looks better, it goes faster! Drag coefficient aside, a shiny car is more noticeable in someones mirror! 🤷🏼 Also, track the snoz outta that convertible, its still a Porsche!

POST 6Original post

Looks great! Although, googling "Speed Lingerie" didn't turn up the images I was hoping for.

POST 8Original post

looks great, but i think someone is stealing your mercedes

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

lol. My wife was getting impatient because I was blocking the driveway.

POST 11Original post

I like the headlight covers, that is a nice change. Good job of waxing also.

POST 12Original post

POST 13Original post

Looks good, more info on those LEDs in lower bumper plz.

Thanks. My regimen is as follows: Wash - Clay - Polish w/ Megs Ultimate Compound - Polish w/ Megs Mirror Glaze #7 - Layer Griots BOS Wax - Layer 1 (cure for 1 hour and do not remove) Layer 2 (cure over night and do not remove) Layer 3 (next morning cure for 2 hours) - Buff clean using Griots spray wax to aid in removing the BOS wax.

Thanks. They are Phillips DRLs. Purchased them from Amazon.

POST 16Original post

Thanks for the regimen. No wonder it looks so good. Inspires me to do more!

They look nice, fooled me. I thought they were Techart BTW, car looks great

POST 18Original post

i'm not usually a headlight cover fan but yours have me thinking. that is an awesome wax regimen. what safety precautions are required on track with a cab? top down? I thought at minimum that the top had to be up..but I really am guessing to be honest. I may see you at Roebling some time, I'm just up the road in Myrtle Beach

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 15320643

Typically you do have to run with the top up. Tomorrow Im with a small group who rented out the track so we pretty much have open track with limited rules and I can run with my top down. Requirements really depend on the group your runnning with. The cabs have pop up roll bars so they pass the PCA safety requirements. I also have a fire extinguisher mounted under the passengers seat as a precaution. I hope you guys didnt get damage from Florence!

POST 20Original post

I haven't washed my Porsche in more than a month. I've even driven it in the rain, taken multiple short trips, and parked it on uneven payment. I guess that's enough evidence to get me kicked out of the Porsche club.

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 15320961

You can be forgiven for all else....but parking on uneven pavement? Boy oh boy...better get out your rosary for parking on an incline or such! https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turb...e-decline.html

POST 22Original post

Nice job....like others have said, the headlight covers are really growing on me as well....THe whole car looks stunning. ...on to rennsport tomorrow as well.

POST 23Original post

LOVE those smoked tail lights! What are they and where can I get them?

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you! They are leds made by Spyder. You can find them on Amazon.

POST 26Original post

Must be nice living in a State that doesn't require front license plates! Love the Germany style plates. Also, great waxing regimen! I might try that...

POST 27Original post

What???? We need a front license plate? god to know. Here are the DEPO smoked LEDs....love the way it modernized the car. Some won't like it...but my whole car is pretty much 997 underneath.

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Some pretty cool hardware at the track. I'll share a few pics and keep it Porsche related considering the forum.
