Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, looking for some advice on this I've read it can be the sunroof but I've checked the drains and they don't look blocked, is there a common fault here I can check?

POST 2Original post

Have you been driving in the rain or washing it a lot? Could be something down in the drains. There is a written process for blowing out with low pressure air. Have you been running the air conditioner a lot? Could be the condensate drain for the AC leaking in the footwell.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My ac is not gassed up at the moment can it still wet the carpet if the discharge tube is blocked?

POST 5Original post

No. It is a condensate drain line for when the AC is working. Did you check the other drains under the cover next to the battery, left and right side? Other sources are the sunroof drain lines on both sides. Note - they are on both sides.

POST 6Original post

There are 4 sunroof drain lines. Also check to make sure the drain line is still properly connected to the sunroof. On one of my old VWs (which Porsche borrowed the design from for the 996) I had a flooded passenger side and it turned out that that a previous owner must have tried too hard to clean out a drain and actually popped the tube off. So, when I checked to make sure the drains were clear, they were, but what I couldn't tell was that the tube wasn't actually fully connected to the drain and a lot of water was getting out.
