Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Recommend him' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend him' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

We do have the right to not recommend as well as recommend without specifying each and every sorted detail.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

MJSpeed is a member here and his shop, MCK Engineering, is in Davie [phone removed]
TuneRS also very good to deal with, speak to Mike or Taylor. [phone removed] Located in Coral Springs
I recently had a good experience with F1 Imports in Naples, but unless the car is outside Ft Lauderdale its probably way too far away. I also bought an 03 C4s a few months ago (not in Naples), happy to answer any questions.
Only went there once, never again. And it wasn't just a misunderstanding on price or something took too long sort of deal. $1,800 bill, of which $1,500 was refunded after much Drama (with a capital D.) And I could have got the other $300 refunded, but got sick of the whole situation.
Look, I'm not gonna detail it out here, but my comment stands.
If you used them and are happy, great, want to use them in the future, great.
Happy to enlighten anyone via PM if they've got a dog in this hunt.
Jeopady Clue: What is....theft with a smile?
Play Jeopardy theme music..........
"Calling them out", your words, not mine. People ask for recommendations all the time and members reply and they don't say why in detail. They simply say, "Hey, try Toni at XYZ Auto. Always great experience. Used many times." And then if anyone wants more details they ask.
So let me rephrase "avoid at all costs."
"Hey don't try MCK Engineering. Bad experience. First time I used them."
And if anyone (anyone, meaning those who may actually consider using them or who have used them) wants the details I offered to explain albeit via PM.
We do have the right to not recommend as well as recommend without specifying each and every sorted detail.
But you chose to use the phrase "theft with a smile." Pretty strong words and accusations. That's a tiny bit different than "I had a bad experience and don't recommend them." Just sayin
bad experience can range from, their coffee was terrible, to, they shot and killed my entire family.
Yes I choose that phrase to give a clue as too what may have transpired after 2 people asked for more info.
to recap:
rluvsporsche says, Can someone recommend a shop in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area that does a thorough PPI?
Hardback responds, MJSpeed is a member here and his shop, MKC Engineering, is in Davie [phone removed].
Is Hardback required to say why he recommends them? No. So why am I required to explain why I do not recommend them? If someone asks why he recommends them, can he explain? yes.
Oh but wait, I did offered to explain, hence the, ask me how I know? And then went on to offer details via PM for those who asked.
So whats the issue here?
Hey Agent Jester, theft with a smile is a polite way of indicating what was involved, sort of like I went to the bathroom is a polite way of indicating you took a s@#t.
I had mine done by Pedro of TechnoLab (a/k/a Pedro's Garage) in Weston. He does a thorough PPI, including replacing the oil filter in order to see if the old filter has any metallic debris. Pedro's number is [phone removed].
You should consider giving Justin Stokes a call. He got my 4S all sorted after my purchase last year. Very professional and I highly recommend him.

As owner of 3 C4S's, make sure you check:
1. cracks in tail lights - vertical cracks that are either tiny or quite large
2. sunroof motor failing - test sunroof over and over again like a monkey. failing motors common and require to flip up rear panel/flip down/ then slide back - this is not the switch it is the motor. 2 of my 3 had this issue.
3. and of course IMS upgrade with serial number sticker so you know it has been changed.
