Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

all, i will soon be entering the 997 world. a year after selling my 3rd C4S, i'm pulling the trigger on a 2005 Carrera S. the seller is in texas used his LLC the clear montana title has his LLC name on it my question: when we do the bill of sale, since i am purchasing from LLC with LLC name on title, is there any hoop to jump through? the seller owns the LLC but is there any documentation needed showing seller is owner of LLC considering seller will be signing/releasing title? i leave for texas thursday and driving home to seattle after several stops in california. happy holidays to all!!

POST 2Original post

Hey Groov, I recently bought a car that had a company name on it. In GA, as long as there are no liens on the title, it transfers in similar fashion as any other title. IMHO. Just make sure it is legit with no liens.

POST 3Original post

What he said above. If you are still worried, ask to see the original LLC filing documents with the state. If the names match, you are good to go. RJ

thanks! - no liens/clean clear title - i figured i'd get a copy of the LLC docs to take with me along with bill of sale. my concern was the name on title is LLC and how does DOL know the seller(release signature) owns LLC should all be fine.

In my case, the company authorized representative printed and signed their name. I'll be honest, I was a little worried too when I took it to the tag office. They ran it in the computer and it came back "clean"... whooooosh! Got my title two weeks later. No problem. But you'll know good, bad, and ugly when they run the title number in the DMV/Tag database.

POST 6Original post

Shouldn't be an issue, but this is just one of many reasons I advise my clients NOT to title cars in their company's name, unless they're going to use it as a true work vehicle (truck, van, etc.). "Fun" cars I have them buy personally and then just 'lease' to the company so we can take depreciation, mileage, etc...

I've heard about people setting up the Montana LLC to not only limit liability, but save on paying sales tax and much lower yearly licensing/tag fees of only $125

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 14662566

Yup. the Montana loop hole. For a 996, meh, but when you throw in sales tax on something like a 918 or a Veyron......it adds up.

For bigger stuff like RV's, planes, yachts, etc. I do that too but for vehicles typically no unless it's an older piece and the client has an LLC specifically to hold all of those assets. Either way, you shouldn't have a problem getting your new ride!

Lets see....$28K X 10.1% (Seattle sales tax) = $2828 average sushi dinner for me and wife = $125 (plenty of saki/kirin beer) $2828 divided by $125 = 22 dinners

Any pics you want to share of your MY05? We should start a time of ownership poll with this one Groove. Is your boat still in the water or do you remove it during the winter?

Beautiful car, groovzilla. Congrats! We'd love for you to stay here in the 996 forum, however, we're going to need to address those headlights. Maybe someone can make you a set of covers that will extend them just a little bit so that they look "right."

POST 15Original post

Congrats! Beautiful car! Yeah, the thread closing mod gods are doing their best to turn the 996 forum into a boring ghost town, as well. It's like they're purposely reducing traffic and forum participation. Take a few shots on the trip home and share them here. Road trips in newly bought vehicles are a blast!

Well, with all the IMS issues addressed now in 996 forum, there isn't much to talk about :-)
