Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello,
Continue the ever lasting search for a 996. Very intrigued by the 40th anniversary. Found one with 48k miles, one owner asking 34,9xx. Car was clean outside of some rock chips and two scratches. Tires were from '14 so likely will need to be changed at some point prior to any track use. No luggage.
Thoughts on pricing? It's hard to gauge market as there are so few.
check this thread and follow the registry, I believe theres a list to currently available cars on Facebook

Considering less than 2,000 were sold in the US it should command a higher price. Increased HP too. I would think low 30's is fair for a nice original example. MSRP was $90k
c5marine - just following up on what Fracture said, here's a link to the list we keep on the 40th Registry website (it's on our FB page, too). If you have questions about any of these feel free to contact me and if I have info that I can share about that car I will be happy to do so.

Production was 1,963 worldwide. I have read that US production was under 1,000, but haven't confirmed myself.
To the OP, I bought a 1-owner 40AE in January for low-30s. All luggage including key pouch, maintenance history back to 2005, but none of the 996 concern areas addressed.
That's a fair price. Highly recommend getting one; I've even considered buying another low mileage one (still loving mine at 93k miles). Any 996 with 30-50k miles is just getting started. The luggage gets harder and harder to find because sleezy car lots keep stealing them. The 40th is a real gem and people are starting to realize how great they are.
Service records from new and one owner would make this a good deal. Ims done would make it even better. 3 year old tires with good tread left can still be used for a while.
Just bought #445 earlier this year. Had 651 a few years ago sold it and missed it a lot, even after buying a 996!turbo.
You won't regret it!
