Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

There is still some additional wiring to get the 997S 3.8l running but it looks damn good.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This summer I had posted the loss of my 3.4l on the track. I wanted to leave you all a teaser on what is to come. After four months, I finally have an engine back in the car. A 997S 3.8l that after all of the mods I hope to get over 400hp. Has not fired up yet but it has got me super excited. There is still some additional wiring to get the 997S 3.8l running but it looks damn good. Once it is finished, I will try to post a complete project overview. 3.8 ready for install 3.8 installed

Here is an older picture of the car....since this picture I have had the whole car repainted, added center radiator and Mk2 GT3 wheels. I will look for a picture with those updates. I will likely be selling these cargraphic 3 piece wheels since I just had my calipers rebuilt and refinished and the screws in the wheels actually scraped the Brembo Big Brakes because of tight tolerance and I don't want to risk doing that again. Will be fine with stock calipers and rotors. I love the look though.

POST 16Original post

Definitely want to hear details on what was needed to make the engine work in this car.

POST 17Original post

Cool. What were the circumstances around the 3.4L failure and what mods are on or being done to the 997 3.8L replacement?
