Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Sometimes have to cycle clutch pedal several times before it will crank. Intermittant now but getting worse, need to fix before it leaves me stranded. Adjust, replace, DIY ?

I zip tied mine...I didn't have an issue previously, but even if I did, it wouldn't be an issue now. You can also pull the contacts from the switch and put a jumper in between them. The bonus is that you get less wear on your crankshaft thrust bearing....

Ive read about the reduced wear on startup, but then I recently saw a PCA video featuring Tony Callas firing up a race car GT1 and he stated to the group that depressing the clutch for engine start is easier on the engine. So was he misspoken? Or maybe his statement only applied to that air cooled race car? Im thoroughly confused.

with the clutch disengaged (no foot pressure on clutch) there is minimal load on the crank (thrust washer?). When the clutch is engaged (pushed in), the crank is loaded. If you start the car with the out then wear is minimized on the thrust washer.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
