Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

You can catch the wire at the gauge or at the ecu but you will want to use a resistor for tapping into it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Next time I go to the track I figured I will log the oil pressure directly from the sender, then I can analyze this after the track session to see what is going on. What is the best way? 1. I could pull a wire directly from the sender in the enginebay to my logger 2. Find the wire in the harness and splice it? From what I understand the oilpressure is not accessible from a cheapo OBD and it doesn't update fast.

POST 2Original post

Is your oil pressure light coming on? If not, I’m not sure what you are trying to accomplish. But to answer your question, an AIM Evo4 or 5 will have the necessary inputs to tie into your pressure gauge wire. From there you need to monitor voltage and setup a map for it. You can catch the wire at the gauge or at the ecu but you will want to use a resistor for tapping into it. Hope this helps.

I have a race capture pro that takes a 0-5v input, I just need to find the pressure sender wire. Curious if there is an easy access to it. it's for track use, there is a concern about oil pressure being low when turning. But it's impossible to look at the gauge while racing since you need the eyes on the road. do you know if the gauge is directly connected to the pressure sender? having troubles finding schematics.
