Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Can anyone recommend an app that will track the route I take and include elevation changes?

If I can figure out how to change from metric to miles then I think it will work great.

I also tried MapMyRide created a similar map but also provided average speed and elevation change information (but not all on the same screen).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can anyone recommend an app that will track the route I take and include elevation changes? I have MapMyRide which will allow me to input a route and give me elevations but I don't think it will actually allow me to just hit "start" and then provide a map of where I went with elevation changes.
I know there are track oriented programs that will yield g force, speed, etc. but I don't need all that (though I wouldn't turn it down!) - just something simple.
It looks like Strava is for Android?? A quick Google search came up with this app. I may give it a try.

That myTracks looks promising. The app I have now is from Under Armor and is definitely running/cycling oriented. It will produce a nice map though if you input it manually - I just want something that will produce a map as I drive. A friend of mine had something he used in his glider that would show his route in 3 dimensions which was very cool.
Not sure if this will work but here is a link to what I get by inputting to the MapMyRide app;

Gaia seems to only have too upgrade listed in Apple app store and I can't find anything on Mobile Arts "GPS Location"? Perhaps they go by different names?
I tried out the myTracks this morning and have mixed feelings.
It does let you choose what type of map you want and does do a nice track with time but is in Kilometers instead of miles, In order to get track altitude information or to export the track it wants you to BUY an additional add on. This was only $2.99 so I decided to give it a try.
It then does show altitude and time throughout the route but still in metric. I was able to send this via Email as a .gpx file. It is supposed to also upload it to my icloud but still waiting for that to update.
If I can figure out how to change from metric to miles then I think it will work great. It seems to eat power so I am thinking it is a good idea to have the phone plugged in when using it.

Well, the icon says GPS Kit Free and when it comes up it shows a Mobile Arts page and then jumps to the app. I can't find a way to see what exactly the app is named. It does save/export tracks and some other good stuff. I'll try to figure out what it is called. Okay...that's it: GPS Kit Free Version 3.7 App Size 3.8 MB
I have a program called "mapmyrun' it tracks your route and measure the total distance; allows you to save & share as well. It is made for exercising, but I've inadvertently left it on when driving and it works just as well. There's a free version you can try (with ads). For ~$0.99, you can get the ad free version.
Mapmydrive is what you are looking for. Please don't use strava or other exercise related apps to track drives, as it creates artificially fast tracks that skew the data for the rest of us.
Thanks Joe! Will maybe give it a try. That mapmyride looks interesting too.
I tried myTracks today and seems quite workable. Can even add photos along the way. Haven't tried downloading yet. Lomax, there is an option in settings to change units.
Well, I took my jaunt. MapMy Drive created a nicely detailed map of my short ride, but really no other data. I also tried MapMyRide created a similar map but also provided average speed and elevation change information (but not all on the same screen). I would say neither of these are ideal for what I would like, but MapMyRide has more info.
Having tried several of these and even finding one that gives all the information, I will stick with my GPS thank you very much.
The phone apps just do not impress me at all.
