Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

This was the result of a cracked tank which was replaced about 2 weeks ago.
Leading evidence: 'Replace about 2 weeks ago' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check engine comes' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

About 20 min later, once I leave the place, check engine light off, drove it 30 miles back home, no check engine light, drove it today, no check engine, could it be coil is ok?

I wouldn't replace them unless it's obvious they need to be replaced - 12k they should be like new.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Took the car in to have the engine mounts changed, went well. Once done, they noticed dried coolant on the rear undercarriage and engine.
This was the result of a cracked tank which was replaced about 2 weeks ago.
So they decide to degrease the undercarriage and engine and then rince with water.
As I'm driving off, notice that engine is hopping upon acceleration. Tried a couple more stop and starts and when I accelerate engine hops. Finally check engine comes on, scanner says, misfire cylinder 2.
Mechanic thinks it's the coil, so new coil ordered.
About 20 min later, once I leave the place, check engine light off, drove it 30 miles back home, no check engine light, drove it today, no check engine, could it be coil is ok? And it was the degreaser and water from when they rinced the engine that got in contact with the coil and caused the cylinder to misfire?
please help any thoughts are welcome
thanks
That's kind of the definition of a cracked coil. Acts up when wet, plays nice when dry.
You should go ahead and replace all 6. Doing just some means you'll need to do others in a few weeks. Count on it.
If you don't know when the plugs were done, you might as well do them as well since the coils will be out.
I want to say they are a 4 or 6 year item "by the book", but I don't remember for sure. Maybe someone else can answer that.
For their relative cost, however, I would just replace them if it were me since the labor is covered by the coils.
^This^ Today's plugs are good for at least 60k mi. unless there's another issue (fouled/burnt). I wouldn't replace them unless it's obvious they need to be replaced - 12k they should be like new. The coils may be ok as well - could have gotten water in a connector as well. You really need to check everything out before you start buying/throwing parts at it... Good luck
Thank you for the info guys, I will change all 6 coils, but will wait till next check engine comes on.
Btw the mounts were oem, rein. They car feels great.
