Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a check engine light on the dash. p0446 - emission control system vent circuit malfunction. Hoping you guys can help me with. Car is running as normal. Lots of power, no missing, smooth as silk. Thanks in advance for any help in this matter. A few pointers would not go amiss.

POST 2Original post

Hi Hurdi, sounds like your evap line is blcked or the fuel evap canister is bad. Please see the pdf in this thread: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/36978-code-p0446/

POST 3Original post

Isn't that the same code that is thrown when your gas cap seal goes kaput? Hurdi, did this coincide with a recent fill-up?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I checked that and the seal looks ok. I believe the 446 code covers about 5 things that could go wrong so I have booked it into Porsche for them to find it rather than sling money at the car in the hope that I find the actual fault. It goes into Porsche this coming friday. Thanks guys.

POST 5Original post

Most often the after cat O2 sensors lead to this, in my experience... Or a vacuum leak.
