I've only checked with a cpouple of distributors for the stainless system and the cash price was 7K.

I would agree with the explanation but would ask we change the comment.

I think atheists should run governments, that way maybe countries would be run by some sense of reason, instead of religious based actions.

My friend had a '98 Cobra that was S/C'd running an X-pipe and that car sounded pretty similar (not the same) as a Ferrari to me.

I'm sure with some wheeln and dealn one could find a set for 6.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I searched prior to posting. I previously found out how to get the ultimate sounding 964, but now that I have a 996, I'd like to know if there are any exhausts that meet my requirements and needs. Are there any exhausts out there that will give a stock 996 more a F1, Bike, Ferrari, Carrera GT howl type sound. I have heard Tubi, PSE, AP, Fabspeed etc. and they are more grumbly growly and don't have that smooth sound. I am looking for more trumpet sounding. Perhaps if I am after that type of sound, I should leave the stock sewing machine sound alone?
I was going to ask the same thing.
I would love to have that sport bike type sound.
The neighbour pulled into our street a few weeks ago in a F430.... my god that sounded so fantastic.
Kind of a whiring sound at idle and as he pulled away a high pitched raspy sound.
How do they do that ???
With the 964, you achived that sound by doing a cross over to balance out the cylinder banks. Only a few of us figured it out. No company made an exhaust that made that sound so it needed to be custom, and not that expensive either. Less than those $2000 systems. I was told FVD copied my buddy's idea and was selling a system for like 5K. Ridiculous!
I am hoping someone will chime in and knows what the trick is with a 996. I was at a Porsche track event and I heard a Boxster with that bike sound, but of course it was a race car. It really sounded like an F1 car at idle. I don't like all the aftermarket exhausts I have heard, just too grumbly.
don't make an apple into an orange... an apple tastes good in its own special way.
why would you want your porsche to sound like an F1, bike or F-car? it has a boxer engine. flat six.
accentuate it. PSE is the best i've heard and always set it on "loud" mode!
if you want trumpet, you bought the wrong car.
That's just disgusting.
Besides, evil is just an abstract concept invented to balance out Christianity. If you're not religious, then the heaven/hell idea is just self-torture that other choose to participate in.
I am a HUGE fan of Horror and Gore Movies. So the subject matter of my art work may not be to everyone's liking but it is what I like...wanted to do something different than anyone else.
I am off to the Santa Cruz area for the day, may take some shots of the car if I find the right place
I so don't understand that comment, but this is not the right thread to discuss it. We should go to OT with it
I'm not religious (born and raised Catholic {until old enough to realize the farce that it is}), so aside from what is taught, I think H&H are states of being. Either your sole is in a state of rest or un-rest depending on your life lead.
But that Cookie monster music (a name we in the tamer Metal music call it) is way beyond my listening ability. I can however appreciate all that musically it takes to lay down those type of tunes. A whole lotta work!!!
I don't go near OT - many of the vapid trolls that live there are not capable of stringing two coherent thoughts together.
Quick explanation:
Put simply - in order to get people to buy what you're selling you need to make them fear not buying it - Marketing 101. For Heaven there is Hell. If you don't believe in one, then the other doesn't exist either. Hell is a creation of religion, as is Heaven.
Now back to the regular programming.
Well okay, if you insist on staying here
I would agree with the explanation but would ask we change the comment. Evil is not what has been mfg'd, its Hell that would agree with your explanation. I fully agree thought that religion in general is a manufacture of ideas created to scare, sell, and influence. I feel its mostly for those with no direction in life, looking for an answer to no question. I appreciate the theories of living properly (do unto others etc), but the "reality" of what religion holds is all about the "all mighty"........dollar. It shames, and influences people. Some fully (the ones with no clue or direction) and the others in various degrees (the brighter ones find a way to manipulate the sys and steal from the less wise). For all eternity, man has fought each other, mostly based on religion or somehow connected.
I think atheists should run governments, that way maybe countries would be run by some sense of reason, instead of religious based actions.
I'm sorry, I'll get off my box now
I think Spock said it best.............. "live well and prosper"
I wasn't asking for opinions, all you guys needed to say is that you don't know. A 911 CAN sound like a bike, I heard two 964's and a Boxster at a track with the sound I am looking for.
Mac,
If you've ever been to an American LeMans race, Porsche POC event, driven along side a Carrera GT, heard a GT1, F1 car or the 964's I was referring about, then you'd understand. Next time I go the track I'll ask the guys there. Have a good weekend.
You know, unless I was dreaming, I saw an X-pipe for 996's. I was thinking how wrong that seemed with the direction of the flow paths. Maybe that would give you the sound you wanted? My friend had a '98 Cobra that was S/C'd running an X-pipe and that car sounded pretty similar (not the same) as a Ferrari to me. Of course the American Engineered car couldnt reach the R's of a Ferrari but above 4000 or so it wailed. Was very raspy and lost all the low tone rumble Mustangs had.
SpeedDemon - I didnt know there was so many metal genres out there, I always thought there were Death, Speed, and Heavy. Where have I been.
Chris, that is funny, I checked out your page after I posted my comment above and low and behold, you have an X-pipe on your C4S. Dude, your car sounds sick, I love it! I believe you have the best sounding 993 N/A I have heard. By the sound, I swore when you drove by that your car was a TT, not a C4S, I had to go back and check.
Thanks Cory. You want sick.....listen to the 996 TT clip of the car at the track. I wish his flyby came out. That car is about as close to an F-car that I've heard. He has my sport cats on that car (strait to tips), and I think I have a muffler setup that I'll be able to offer to keep folks legal (if they choose
) soon too. If we get some free time, I'll get his car to the shop to see.
Your initial question was almost like asking "How can I make my 911 look more like an M3, or a 'Vette, or a Prius?" You will get many opinions and comments about your desire to make the car like something it is not. You will not get many (on any) replies on how to make those changes. But when you get some opiniated feedback, you get a little testy about the opinions. Really, what did you expect?
Tim,
The reason I seemed testy is because I wasn't asking for opinions. Guess not too many attorneys in these forums LOL!!, as they would say, just answer the question. not asking for your opinion. I just wanted to know if anyone knew who made an exhaust that had the sound I was seeking, not if you like that sound. I realize on web forums, questions will always sway and become an opinion board rather then just answering the questions.
Tippy and Chris know where I am coming from and in the 964 forums a couple achieved the sound too. You say my question sounds like I am asking how to make my car sound like an M3 or Vette or Prius? Huh? Obviously you're not familiar with types of Porsches that I have been around because I have heard plenty that have the sound I am after. I just wanted to know who made those exhausts.
You misread my "example" question. I did not say "sound like like an M3 or Vette or Prius?" I wrote that your question was almost like asking
"How can I make my 911
look more like
an M3, or a 'Vette, or a Prius?"
I took your basic premise and exaggerated it a bit to make a point. I am guessing your first thought about my question would be "Why would
you want to do that?"
If you had asked my quesion, you would not have gotten much help. Your question may seem "ordinary" to you, but many here will wonder why do you want to make a Porsche sound like a Ferrari? Or why would you want to make a Ferrari sound like a Mustang?
Most of us would never even consider trying to get our car to imitate a 430 or a F1 car. Don't get me wrong here because I am not trying to start an arguement. I actually find your idea interesting, but I wouldn't want to do it to my car.
If no one had responded to your question because we had no idea how to do it, you probably would have said (or thought) "Well, screw you guys if you don't want to help me." Basically, I read your later post as saying "if you can't help me, then don't comment either." It just seemed to me that, either way, we were in a "no win" situation as far as you were concerned. Does that make any sense?
Nice music...definately more Hardcore/Punk than Death Metal. Vokils are straight-up hardcore while the lyrics are punk infused. Thanks for sharing and yes it's a rare combination to find Metal and Porsches together that's what makes life interesting
Tim,
I appreciate and respect your last thread. You are right, when few or none reply, it means they didn't know and I should have left it at that. Case closed.
I've only checked with a cpouple of distributors for the stainless system and the cash price was 7K. I'm sure with some wheeln and dealn one could find a set for 6.
Yeah I saw about 500K yen for the exhaust and 170K yen for the x pipe.
It's a great sound, but I think I'd rather have $7K of sportbike personally.
Still I'm sure you'll love it! I've heard one in person, it's spine-tingling
Agreed... I have the PSE option on my C4S and it is pretty darn loud...
1st Gear - 0-7000RPM, screaming like an italian
2nd Gear - 0-3000 & 4000-7000 screaming like a gutural italian
3rd Gear - 0-2000 RPM gutural roar 3000-7000 screaming like a gutural italian
4rd Gear - 2600 - 6000 RPM gutural & very loud roar
5th & 6th great plain loud and deep and from the inside
so in short - else than 1st gear where you can almost emulate the lambo sound in its 1&2 gear (up to its 6000 RPMs then the rest requires a german castration), you will have your own agressive porsche sounds. So much louder that the stock sounds. Put it this way, I got pulled over by a cop in Boston because of excessive noise.
