Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am sure they would have found it running a 7:38 with them on.

Suggestion
I think they should have run the GTR with the PS cups they use on the 997TT and GT2.

There are no hard-and-fast rules about how to run a lap at Nurburgring.

Suggestion
If I ran PS2 sports and then PS Cups on a 1:40 track, I would knock a few seconds off my lap time with the Cups.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

And that's one example... all the other tests I've seen have the GTR stomping on Porsche for lap times of various places. However, maybe Nissan supplied "special" GTRs for the other tests. I heard about GM making a special effort of the fit/finish on Soltices going for media reviews.
True enough. However, 25 seconds is absolutely HUGE!!
If Porsche purchased a GT-R and ran it with a professional driver who is familiar with the ring in good weather conditions, there is absolutely no way they should be that far off. I could believe a few seconds possibly, but no way 25.
If true, it will be interesting to see this play out.
In Road & Track exotic car shootout Porsche still finished behind the GTR after overall points were total. 4 different courses, autocross, small road course, larger road course & oval track. Testing was done @ Willow Springs with 3 different professional drivers.

A bit more details in this one.
I think they should have run the GTR with the PS cups they use on the 997TT and GT2. I am sure they would have found it running a 7:38 with them on. Tires make a world of difference and they don't mention what tires were on the GTR.
That wouldn't be fair. If I ran PS2 sports and then PS Cups on a 1:40 track, I would knock a few seconds off my lap time with the Cups.
Also the 997 TT comes equipped with PS2's not PS cups. The article say they ran the Porsche laps on Cups.
Yeah the MPSC vs. whatever street tire thing is a little funny when you accuse the competition of running semislicks, but hey whatever. (I think the GT-R can be had from factory with summers or all seasons, I didn't see any mention at any of the 5000 places screaming this story yesterday)
