Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

i paid $40 for two little bumps in the same area, buthen i have used the guy for a while.
Leading evidence: 'Use guy' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Changing wheels, and for some reason I pushed down too hard on a front fender and put a very slight "dent" into it.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have to admit, it bugs me much more when I do something stupid than when someone else does. . . .

Might have been contact with my wedding ring. Not visible just looking at it, but when reflecting light off the waxed surface the distortion was easily visible (by me at least).
So, yesterday I took it to our area's premier PDR expert. Access to the location took 1 minute (pop the headlight). 20 minutes and $85 later, just like new. It turns out these happen pretty often on front fenders.
So, be careful with your fenders, and also consider PDR if needed, and play classical music while working on your car.
damn he ripped you off imo. i paid $40 for two little bumps in the same area, buthen i have used the guy for a while.
totally agree. people need to be careful about leaning on any part of the body. it dents easily. on any car.
Sorry, no photos. I really do not think you could photo the dent. You could only see it with certain light conditions. If you looked at a reflection from the fender you could see a distortion. Of course, since I knew where it was, I looked there constantly.
Regarding force--well, obviously too much
but did not seem like that much at the time. I think my ring concentrated the stress. Funny, no scratches however.
I think the main message is that I was really impressed with the PDR technique.
+1 on PDR technique... I had a very slight crease on the passenger side door and PDR was able to remove it completely and I paid about the same as you. I believe that for Porsches, the price may be higher tha others, Oops
But I am happy it's gone bc it bugs me too much. Though on the fender, I would not expect a dent on a push only it's supposed to be very hard piece of metal, must have been a pretty hard push. Glad that you got it sort-out. Cheers...
My daily, a 99' 328 picks up a few regardless of how remote I try and Park. There's a local guy I use, he comes by the house once a year, looks both cars over. Last summer it was four dents(1 was on the 996), $200. He's been doing my cars for the last three years.
to add to the boneheaded moves over the weekend i was washing the car myself (rare occassion) and when i put the rear wiper down, the metal part scraped the paint next to the window so i got this nice V scratch that i had a pro try to buff out, but you can still see it. tough to pick out if u didn't know where it was but i know it's there. GRRRRRR
oh well. part of the character of the car right?
I'm glad I'm not alone. I had to transport my new wheels last week when I brought them home from the powdercoating shop. I put one wheel in the trunk and padded it with about 5 towels. The wheel still rolled, despite the padding. It put two protruding dents in the hood of my car. I was so happy with my new wheels...it rained on my parade. My paintless dent guy came over the next morning and made the two dents on my hood disappear. He also took care of a door ding. I'm a frequent customer, so he only charged me $40.
I'll add to the list of bonehead moves...
Was changing wiper blades. Had the arm in the up position (off glass) with no rubber blade in, just metal arm. Turned back and bumped the "spring loaded" arm. Whap! back down on window. Busted!
