Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Where should this line go after it is disconnected from the stock intake unit?
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect from the stock intake unit' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect from the stock intake unit' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just recently I purchased an Evo CAI from the auction site. It has not arrived yet, but while taking a look at the online instructions that are on Evo's web site, and looking at my car, I noticed this additional "breather" line on the stock intake.
According to the instructions,
ON TIPTRONIC models: unplug the breather line that is inserted into the left side of the OEM rubber hose near the throttle body."
My car is a 996 X-51 engine (6-speed manual), and it appears to have the described breather line. Where should this line go after it is disconnected from the stock intake unit?
Thanks

Ok, so I spoke with Evoms, and you could specify while ordering that you either have a tiptronic or X51, and they will send with the order the appropriate piece that connects to the intake that also has the breather line.
I'm out of luck, since I bought my unit used, but Evoms said I could easily drill out my own hole, and make it work. Off to home depot
Now, to my new question... How do these two pieces come apart? (The metal piece that connects to the intake and the black plastic part where the air filter attaches to).
Thanks

Wieghts more, muffles the sound from the engine, it traps heat off the engine and warms up the air in the going into the engine with the radiant heat and it also sufficates the air being allowed to go in when compared to a after market intake.
What is the actual weight difference?
What is the actual difference in intake charge temp?
As for suffocating air flow, my understanding is that the stock filter provides more air than the intake manifold can move.
In other words, the intake manifold itself limits (and controls) the amount of air entering the engine; not the stock air filter.
However, those who sell aftermarket air filters may claim otherwise.
Less muffled sound?
I'll give you that one.
