Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need to clean and remove all the residue from the windshield as I can notice fine residue (very superficial scratches) when viewed from an angle as the sun shines through it. Anyone used Bon-Ami on it? It is not recommended to use it if the windshield is coated as it may take the coat off? Perhaps I need to use some good glass polish or thinking perhaps claybar might work too. Any pointers? Thanks. MiCkEy

POST 2Original post

This is a good questions, I have the same things!

POST 3Original post

Use Stoner Glass cleaner/polish with a microfibre towel...cleans the best. Don't use anything with ammonia.

POST 4Original post

I use Stoner "Invisible Glass" cleaner. Then I follow up with distilled water to remove all traces of soap/detergent. The glass comes out perfect.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am guessing just the cleaner won't do it. I would need a polisher as well to rid of the small blemishes on the WS.

Griots garage also has a glass polish. www.griotsgarage.com

POST 8Original post

Be real careful polishing glass. I screwed up the glass on a car last year trying to remove waterspots that were etched into the glass. You want to be really gentle and cautious. And note that the windsheild glass is not as hard as the tempered glass that you will find on the sides and rear.
