Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys. I was low on fuel today, it pointed on the red mark, and as soon as it did the CHECK yellow light came on and then I fueled the car up but it wont go away. Whatsup with that light? //Norbert

POST 2Original post

The check engine light is ususally triggered by something associated with the emissions system. Is the gas cap loose? That could trigger a check engine light.

POST 3Original post

There is a TSB 2006 1/04 on fuel float sticking on the way up, try renntech.org if you are a member.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

gota911: Nah no cap loose if you mean fuel filter, I did fuel the car up after the light came on. Bijan: What does TSB mean, where to look for that, yes Im a member at renntech.

Have you registered on RennTech? I think you have to contribute (make a donation) to RennTech to be able to access the TSB's. It will be worth the $25.00.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okey thanks guys. The light turned off after 40min drive with 30L fuel in the tank, propably it turnes on when the car is running out on fuel. I did a donation tho, good for future stuff... Thanx

Nobby, if the tank is less than 1/4 full, the evap valve on the fuel system can cause a check engine light (CEL) to trigger, if it sticks. Above this fuel level the system doesn't check the valve operation, so will not report a fault. May be the cause - non critical other than for emissions testing
