Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm thinking of buying a set of these seats in gray leather to go in my 996 C2 car. I was wondering what all I will need for an install? I realize these seats cannot tilt forward and I'm Ok with that. I would like to be able to slide them forward and backward. Are there seat mounts and sliders that are universal for aftermarket seats? Also my car does have the factory power seats on both the driver and passenger side. Any help would be great. Thanks, Russ

POST 2Original post

I would use caution on those. I have seen them on eBay. I do not recognize the brand. They could possibly be rip-offs made in Taiwan, etc, etc. Fitting it properly might be an issue. I had a tough time fitting Sparco's in my 996. I would recommend talking with the guys at www.speedwaremotorsports.com I am sure they could help give you some guidance. Good luck. C.

POST 6Original post

The style looks like Recaro SPG, which I have on my car. It shoud fit. I use the speedware mount and the OEM rail. Simply took the rail, seat belt buckle off you existing seat and mount it on the new seat. You will have to do some cutting on the speedware mount to fit the rail. It takes time but not hard to do. Becareful, I found OEM seat usually can seat lower than most after market seat using OEM mount. If you are a tall guy, think twice. http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/...ustomSteel.asp
