Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Keep the involved labor with the change in mind and that your stock shocks wear faster with the lowering springs, so if you already have >50k miles on the car, I'd consider changing both springs and shocks.
Leading evidence: 'Run h&r lowering springs' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace springs and shocks' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

go for a coilover set like PSS9 ($2k) or a used GT3 suspension ($1k)

The other advantage of coilovers is that they use less space, so wider wheels can be mounted; another thing that I don't care about; just upgraded to 5-spoke wheels (8 inch front, 10 inch rear) and love them.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Since about 1 year I'm running H&R lowering springs on my MY00 C2 Cab. I've now 40k miles on her. Some time ago I put GT3 sway bars on her and at my last DE event I recognized that my stock shocks became the weak link in my suspension set-up. I.e. the sway bars make the car much stiffer/reduce body roll, so especially when brake hard, I recognize instability in the front. I think that's related to my stock shocks. They don't adjust quick enought.
My options for a suspension upgrade are:
(1)
add Bilstein Sport Shocks ($0.8k) to complement my H&R springs (I like my current springs' rate and amount of lowering)
(2)
go for a coilover set like PSS9 ($2k) or a used GT3 suspension ($1k)
What pros and cons should I expect and what would you suggest. I do about 6 DE events per year (Blue Group - street tires), rest is street driving (not a daily driver); total milage per year approx. 6k.
Thanks, Harold
Thanks! I actually don't care about the adjustability. The other advantage of coilovers is that they use less space, so wider wheels can be mounted; another thing that I don't care about; just upgraded to 5-spoke wheels (8 inch front, 10 inch rear) and love them. What's about the weight difference between coilovers and a spring - shock set-up?
PSS9's don't just give you ride height adjustment but also dampening adjustment. Does KONI make adjustable shock replacements? That would be the best of both worlds since you have the H&R's already and don't care about ride height adjustment, the KONIs will give you dampening adjustment without having to spend extra $ for the PSS9s.
I like the H&R springs as they give you more of a sports car feel than the stock springs, lower the car nicely and eliminate the wobbly front end. But, they are clearly stiffer than stock, so it reduces comfort on bad surfaces. For street driving only, I think that the H&R spring/stock shock set-up is fine. However, I got to a point, especially after my GT3 sway bar installment and 10 days on the track, where I want more precise handling.
Above is only my opinion and I know that others like TheSpeedDemon have reported that the H&R spring set-up with stock shocks was not to their liking. Keep the involved labor with the change in mind and that your stock shocks wear faster with the lowering springs, so if you already have >50k miles on the car, I'd consider changing both springs and shocks.
