Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm seriously close to clsoing the deal on one and was wondering what the current thoughts on pricing would be for one with 12K miles and a fresh 2 yr. CPO? Thanks!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That sounds great but is a good bit less than what they are asking.

POST 6Original post

There have been a few with 35K miles in southern Cal, CPO for $59K....if you can find one for $45, you are in luck! Most of the ones listed on autotrader are 55K-65K for 30K +/- mileage.

POST 7Original post

They couldnt get rid of these cars brand new at 60K-65k

POST 8Original post

I don't think a 40th Anniv. (x51 engine, natural leather, Turbo front end ....) can be bought for 45K. Pioneer Porsche has one CPO for $58,900 with 35K miles. I'd say maybe $55,000 given it has low miles. I'm just ball parking. I have a 40th anniv. myself and would be quite surprised to see one go for less than 50K, especially from a dealer, but maybe redridge has a better sense of the market.

I recently purchased an 04C2 with 24k and CPO for $53k - optioned with PSM PSE, M030, 18" carrera wheels with new conti's, Bose upgrade, carbon fiber shifter and brake lever, flared rockers, power heated seats, Xenon lighting. I might have paid on the high side but the car is straight and I wouldn't buy with out CPO. Edmunds shows the 40th with 12k at $67k for CPO. I think mid 50's is a good deal depending on the overall condition. Mine came in about 12% under edmunds and $6k+ under bank when I bought it. Just my opinion.

Thank you for the feedback. We'll see what transpires!

Bill - I know that you are looking at a 40th Anniversary car, but I wanted to let you know that my 2004 C2 Coupe is for sale. Here is a link to the listing in the Classified section. 2004 C2 Coupe PM me is you have any questions.

POST 12Original post

I bought my 2004 40th 6 months ago with 13,700 miles on the odometer. I paid $60,000 out the door. Part of me is kicking around the idea of selling it. Not sure though. Current mileage is 19,200. Love the car but not the most practical in the world. Didn't really buy it for its towing capacity or storage space. I believe the CPO warranty ends in another 20 months.

Not true. The MSRP was in the mid 90's. At the end of the 2004 model year, the cars sold in the mid 70's.

POST 14Original post

While we're on this topic, I'm seriously considering selling my car. Think I can sell it in the high 50's with my mods??? I have 38,xxx miles.

POST 15Original post

Definitely not, unless you sold me your wheels first.

You bet me to the punch. The best price I saw was $78K and that was $17K off the sticker. I believe that Porsche was offering their Dealers around $10K in market support at the end of the model year.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like we're about there on the numbers. I may ask someone to put some eyes on the car for me this week.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was wrong on the CPO...the car doesn't have CPO but the regular factory warranty expires next summer. My final offer offer was $57K; however, they wanted more. At this point I'll continue looking!

POST 19Original post

There is a 40th Anniversary at a consignment shop I sometimes stop by at and take a looksee at what they have (they seem to always have Italian exotics). It is very clean, although it has been in and out of there for over a year They are asking $58.5k and it has about 18.3k miles. Their website is www.cammisa.net . I first saw it when shopping for my current 911/996 (which btw I now have for sale). Good Luck with your search.

You mean $95K. The list on ones with comfort seats and Nav were $96K. Porsche had a $10K dealer incentive for these cars in addition to the $12K difference between the invoice and sticker. Many of these cars sold new in the mid-$70's, which was a bargain for the amount of equipment they have. You couldn't buy a new regular Carrera stripped for $60-65K in 04'.

POST 22Original post

I drove several 997 S models before purchasing 40th anniv. for $67K in August- CPO, new P-zeros, carrera rear spoiler, 10k miles. It's a great package with beautiful interior. Did not like the PASM on 997.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, looks like I have a deal. 8,400 miles, new CPO warranty (factory expires in June '08). Options include comfort seats, cd changer, rear window wiper, and bose stereo.

Congrats, exact same spec as mine. As the X51 hits 5,500+ RPM, you'll be a happy dude. Enjoy!
