This is probably coming off lease...have them run the DME for you and see if there are any class 2 events.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thanks all, the previous car that I had narrowed down is dropped from my list as it had too few miles. Can you please provide any suggestions to this one. I am going for a test drive tomorrow or day after. Price is negotiable.

What would be a fair price for this?
I'm no expert on the later 996's, but this seems to be priced way high. Also, there is definately a resale hit for the tiptronic trannies that make them less pricey than 6-speeds. At that mileage, and given it is a cab, I'd say mid 40's tops? Just a guess.
Yes....the fourties sound about right....it's a tiptronic so in some cases, theyr'e harder to sell kuz the guys want the 6 speed. 37K miles on an 03 is in the higher range...that would go against it. It has two years of a CPO warranty left....that's a plus.
This is probably coming off lease...have them run the DME for you and see if there are any class 2 events. If everything checks out...then I'd say something in the area of $44-46K.
Chuck,
How can you tell it has two years of CPO warranty left?
Also this is my second choice (should be first). I have looked at it and it is truly in great shape.

This car is tight!
It's an 03 and there should be the remainder of the CPO warranty left....the original warranty is 6 years or 100K miles.
I just bought mine off an ebay ad put up by a dealership and it came with the remainder of the CPO warranty which is only till September of next year....one year left on the original (mine is an 02). You should ask that question....a CPO warranty is worth several things...peace of mind, and an insurance policy against major catastrophic failure for the remainder of the time. Not all cars come with it.
Just as a point of reference, I paid $42K three months ago for my '03 C2. It had 32k, CPO until 12/08, PSM, PSE, SSK, turbo tips, side skirts, and it was nearly flawless. Cabs tend to get $2-3K more but right now the market is flooded with them. Fall is a buyers market for cabs. I would expect to pay the low 40's for what you're looking for. Also, expand your search beyond the DC area. The prices tend to be higher here for some reason.
Mickey - I have a 2004 C2 for sale. 44,500 miles, asking $46,000, OBO. Here is a link to the ad in the classified section.
2004 C2 Lapis
PM or email me if you have any questions.
Hang on guys, I think you are getting confused about the warranty.
Factory warranty is 4 years, so if that is still active it only has weeks left to run.
CPO warranty
may
have been added by a previous seller and is valid for two years after the factory warranty ends.
HOWEVER
- a CPO is
only
tansferrable from a Porsche dealer or a private individual and
NOT
from a non-Porsche dealer, which this appears to be.
Tha ad talks about "CPO" but it cannot be a Porsche CPO.
Spiderv6 you are right. The $tealer checked and the vehicle is no longer under warranty! I had expected that too. I like the 2004 996 posted but it is a coupe. Why are all the nicer ones coupe?
It does take patience. If you don't see what you want out there this moment, wait. New cars come on the market all the time. You get to live with your decision, so make it the right one!
