Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I even checked the floor this morning again and no oil.
Leading evidence: 'Check floor this morning again and no oil' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cosmoline burning off the new exhaust' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check floor this morning again and no oil' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The tech said it's probably the cosmoline burning off the new exhaust.

I guess you have to be smarter than the car when you check the oil and apparently I wasn't.

When I had the PSE installed last week I noticed a drip around the RMS so I check the oil and it was full.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When I had the PSE installed last week I noticed a drip around the RMS so I check the oil and it was full. I drove 25 miles home and 20 over the weekend and no drip on the garage floor. I took the car to the dealer today, aprox 20 miles to get a window regulator replaced under warranty and started smelling oil at every stop light. I checked the level at the dealer and Im down half a quart. A half a quart in 65 miles makes me believe I have a serious oil leak. I have a feeling Im be joining the RMS club. I guess Ill know tomorrow.
Usually the RMS/ IMS leaks only drops which you may smell but nothing like the oil loss you are talking about. I have read some who have had similar leaks but can not recall they were from the RMS. I replaced my RMS over 2 years ago and still dry so I think they new fix seems to be working ok. Last advice I would give is if you need a new RMS/ IMS have them check your clutch while they are in there since the labor is already basically taken care of.
Best of Luck

That amount of oil loss is not consistent wih an RMS leak. Furthermore, you would have small puddles of oil on your garage floor with that kind of loss if it were because of a bad RMS.
I would put it on stands, clean it up, and track where its coming from... take pics and post it here. We all should be able to help... Are you getting blue smoke?
Question: Was the car driven regularly prior to the PSE being installed?
The smell is definitely concerning, if that's what it is. But half a quart isn't necessarily that much if the car is driven infrequently. On cars that aren't driven much, accumulated moisture in the oil can absolutely affect the dipstick reading to that extent.
They asked if we were talking about the same car since they couldn't find a leak anywhere. I guess you have to be smarter than the car when you check the oil and apparently I wasn't. Every one did agree that there was a strong smell of oil. The tech said it's probably the cosmoline burning off the new exhaust.
My wife in here sarcastic way asked if I diagnosed the window regulator correctly, isnt she sweet.
Mike, it could be worse! You could have asked us what the "little green clock thingie on the dashboard" was!
BTW - did they offer to exchange the Summer air in your tires with Autumn air?
I don't know your wife, but I am sure I would recognize the tone of voice in which she asked the question!
