Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I know it’s not going to completely eliminate having to repeat the process of cleaning the radiators, but if it lengthens the interval and adds some road debris protection it was worth it to me.
Leading evidence: 'Clean radiators' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean condensers among other projects' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Looking forward to getting them installed this winter when I pull the bumper to clean the condensers among other projects..

I used a set from radiator grill store and installed them at the same time I had the bumper off to clean the radiators so it was pretty easy, but even with it on it wouldn’t be very difficult.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am trying to decide on what materials and manufacturer are best and install tips and cautions on my 2000 996.

Following as I am currently looking at the Rennline set. Definitely on the expensive side but I prefer the way it attaches. The RGS were my next choice.
I installed the RGS mesh covers as well. Time will tell how effective they are. I cleaned the radiators before installing it and will check them again after a year.
I made my own from a a hexagon shaped mesh material from Amazon. Cost was about $30 bucks and had zero issue for several years now. They have done a remarkable job keeping out stuff from flying and blocking your radiators. Make sure you do a really good job cleaning out the radiators before installing these. More than a vacuum job.
+1 for RGS. I had the bumper off doing the annual radiator/condenser cleaning and just cut the material to fit and secured with zip ties. Still looks pretty "factory". You have to zoom in to see the honeycomb material behind the factory grille.
Ordered the Rennline inserts today. Looking forward to getting them installed this winter when I pull the bumper to clean the condensers among other projects..
I am certainly handy enough to DIY the project or go with the RGS but I liked the idea of how the Rennline's mount.
I have a question. What would be considered the best grill spacing to use? I'd like to be able to keep out rocks as best I can. The local roads are bad and it's not unusual for bits and pieces to fly up. I'd like more protection for the radiator than keeping leaves out. Cleaning the radiators is a biannual event for me. The end of spring and fall.
By spacing, I mean the distance between the grills wiring with each other, Half an inch or inch width? I don't want to curb the airflow into the radiators by going with too small of an entryway.
Anything you put in front of the radiator will restrict airflow. Most debris that goes in there will come to rest at the bottom. Just clean it out with a vacuum once a year.
If you like the look of it that's a different story.
