Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys i'm buying a full back of a turbo to install it on my 1998 carrera 2 . The price is really good but how can be sure that it's the right spoiler ?. Thanks for support Bongi

POST 2Original post

Your are trying to put a rear spoiler from a Turbo body on a 1998 C2 narrow body, it will not fit without some modification. You can't just bolt it right into place.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Please can you TELL me how i can do it ? The SHAPE of the back LID is it the same ? The others modifications which are ?

POST 4Original post

The turbo deck lid is for a wide body car. Your C2 is a narrow body car. It can be done, but you'll need to cut the lid to make it fit. It's too wide and too long to fit your car. I've seen it done before, but even after being cut to fit, it looks "off". The lines of the cut lid won't properly align with the tail lights. Your best bet is an aftermarket part designed for narrow body cars.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do you have a photo of someone that has do it ?

POST 6Original post

I don't, but it was a member on this site. If you search you may find it.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Another question....but i've seen that on the cabrio there is an original electric spoiler..... I've seen wrong ? My CAR is a 996 cabrio 1998

POST 8Original post

The hydraulic cylinders will hit the air filter box. And you will have to cut off some of the lid across near the TURBO script. As I recall from the above mentioned thread the width of the opening was the same.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mmmmm mumble mumble I've installed a k&n new filter... So it should has enough space. The spoiler is this ....

POST 10Original post

Hopefully that's a fully operational time machine.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys..... Does Anyone of you has tried this ? I've searched on internet but nothing ... Only descriptions & no photos or videos... Counsil me I try ? I love active spoiler ))) My girl. Need one .....

POST 12Original post

You appear to doubt everyone that is trying to explain that it does not just fit. Take 10 minutes to remove your existing lid and then place the turbo one on top of the opening, you will see what everyone is talking about. Then find a good bodyshop to give you a quote for how much it would cost to modify the turbo lid. Then decide if you still want to proceed...

POST 13Original post

why don't you just make this simple and buy a turbo missing a rear decklid??

POST 14Original post

If you have changed the air box then you will have clearance for the rams. I think after you move the Cold Air Injection pump a little. Then You will only have to cut about ?2"? off of the bottom of the lid below the "TURBO" badge. It has been done before. I think the car was blue?

POST 15Original post

here is the one that I saw. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...rrow-body.html Here is his blog about it. http://996trunk.blogspot.com/

POST 16Original post

When you change the aerodynamics at the rear of the car you must now also make changes to the front so that you have a balanced aero package. Otherwise you could experience some very unpleasant results. This was common back in the air cooled days when people starting slapping the original turbo whale tails on non turbo cars.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys Thanks you all for your support!. I love this forum !!!!!!!

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
