Nice car...I too just purchased my first ever Porsche, 2003 911 C2 cab...triple black..and I agree, pain in the butt to keep spottless...but who cares...I would rather spend 2 hours cleaning her then doing real house work....NOTHING LOOKS BETTER, THEN A JUST WASHED BLACK 911..

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

39 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just thought I'd post about my 1st 911. I like reading this forum and have found a lot of good information here. I'm sure I'll be posting more in the future. Mine is a 1999, black on black, 59 k miles, cost 25.5k. Seems to run and drive excellent. Just had it inspected by Mike Tillson Motor Car in Philadelphia. The only thing they could recommend was changing the belt. The speed. Compared to what I'm used to ( 1997 bmw 3 series, 2006 ford mustang 6 cylinder ) this car is really fast. I love it. I know many of you have much faster vehicles (TT) but it's all relative I suppose. It's great to step on the gas and have the car actually respond immediately. The color - sure it's a pain in the *** to keep clean, but I actually enjoy the effort. And when it's clean, does anything look better? The dream - for me it is a dream come true. I love this Porsche.

I bet... by looking at your pictures I see you were shaking a little bit Nice 99. Welcome.

POST 16Original post

EJ, Welcome aboard. Beautiful car. You're right, when it's clean, nothing looks better. I just finished washing my black 996 and thinking how tough it is to keep it looking great. But just looking good is good enough some of the time. You have the option that I lust after - the rear wiper!

POST 17Original post

welcome aboard.....fantastic deal....drive drive drive it. J

POST 19Original post

Welcome to the Porsche Phunny Pharm! Nice looking car! Thanks for sharing the pics!

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for all the positive responses. The wheels are 19" My original pictures were a bit shaky, which accounts for the image blur. I also noticed my pics are too big, requiring annoying scrolling. This weekend I'll put the camera on a tripod and get some real crisp pics, sized correctly.

POST 21Original post

Damn! $25k?? I can't believe how cheap 99's are getting. You can set aside $12k for a new engine and still be ahead of the game! Congrats! Now, find a school zone, and burn some rubber!

Tell me about it! I am trying to "give away" my 2004 996 C2 for $46,000 and no one will take it!

POST 23Original post

That is a killer deal on your blue '04! I guess we can blame the depreciation on the Subprime credit crunch!?

POST 24Original post

What a deal, you got about 5K worth of rims to go along too! Looks very nice!

POST 25Original post

SOB....WTF......$25.5K for that..... I most definitely got it dry!

POST 26Original post

Congrats on the purchase of your 911. Looks beautiful. Enjoy it in good health and go easy on the heavy foot until you get used to the beast.

POST 29Original post

In a lot of states they have an Amber Alert system...and I want to say in Pennsylvania if they do, it is flashing brightly BTW...still a nice looking car

POST 30Original post

POST 31Original post

NICE! Great price too. Now get ready for the real expense... MODS! -Side skirts -Front GT2/GT3 lip spoiler -Rear wing -and the list goes on and on... (installed my new rear spoiler, AeroKit II side skirts and '02 GT2 front lip spoiler today! WOO HOO! Will post pics tomorrow after I wash and wax)

POST 32Original post

Great car. I'm new here as well. I just picked up an 02 coupe with 51k miles for 39k this week. Learning how to drive a stick with it and really looking forward to when I can actually drive it well. I'll try and get some better pics later.

Welcome to Rennlist and Congrats on getting a 996! Thanks for shariing the pic!

POST 34Original post

Well, I feel like crap. I probably should have done a little more research than I did, but I just bought a 2000 996 C2. It has 59,000 miles and not many options. It does have all maintenance stamped in the book though. I paid $29,000. Damn, $25.5 is a steal!!![IMG] [/IMG]

POST 35Original post

othomasjr-I wouldn't worry about what you paid at this point....besides, I think there is a noticeable difference between the 00 and 99 prices because the 99s had a few unique issues the others did not.... A few nice pickups here...congrats everyone!

woo. I like US in terms of buying exotic cars, I paid USD80k to buy an older (MY2000) C4 manual in Hong Kong.
