Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I got hassled about a month ago for mine in the same tint...so I fixed it.....I sold the car to Mark...of course it was a little smokey inside but yutta' hey.....he's a deputy....he can handle it now.
All,
I'm getting my Arctic Silver (Black interior) C4S tinted next week at Premier Mobile (based on all the great recommendations here) and I'm trying to decide between 20% and 35% on all 5 windows. I don't want it to look "gangsta", but I also don't want it to be too light. I had 35% on my M3 (Silver with Tan interior) and that was a little too light for me, but the interior was lighter than my C4S also.
Any pictures (preferably the same color combination as mine) and tint percentages would be much appreciated. For the record, I understand the tinting laws in my state (California) and I'm not concerned about that ;-)
Thanks in advance for any help... josh
not sure how a sports car that's probably pretty stock can look gangster from a tint job no matter how dark, but anyways, anything at 20 or above should be just fine. i think you'll be happy with 20% reglardess of the interior color. it'll protect the interior better anyways
i'd tint my car if it didn't have the color backed sport seats at 20%
Found out 30% is legal in SC, so that's what I'm going with.
MAN!! What a helpful post. I'll post mine when I get them, along with my opinion.
Rennlist Rocks!!
Demon: You said yours are legal in CA? I got hassled about a month ago for mine in the same tint...so I fixed it.....I sold the car to Mark...of course it was a little smokey inside but yutta' hey.....he's a deputy....he can handle it now. I'm going to tint the windows on my TT too....I like the look.
Chuck...did you notice the
at the end of the statement
Mark should know the laws here in Cali and I want to say that it is anything on the rear and back side windows, but on the front side windows I want to say it is 65% (meaning that it blocks 35% light and so 65% visibility is achieved - this is for law enforcement reasons and not protection of the interior of the car). So the key to be 'legal' is to get the maximum tint value but has the best UV protection because blocking only 35% of light is not a lot, and if the tint is not good stuff then the UV protection will not do what ou want the tint to do and that is protect your interior from the sun and keep it cooler. I can hook you up with my good friend that does tinting and he can give you the real numbers as he has to abide by them...just PM me. My tint is actually the opposite where I have 35% which is actually the amount of light coming-in, so I am blocking 65% of light (on the fronts), where as the 3 rears are 15% which is blocking a lot of light. IMHO if you go with a 'legal' tint on the fronts you should not go too dark in the rears or it will look funny where half the car will look tinted. But then it is up to you and my friend will tell you what is leagl, what is not, what is recommended as to how to mix different values.
BTW
congrat's on getting the TT
