Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

POST 2Original post

With the Canadian dollar being almost par with the US, and will be worth more shortly. It still makes more sense to buy a Porsche in the US then in Canada.

POST 4Original post

Despite the ridiculous spin, this is a defensive move made possible by the fact that Porsche has a consolidated P&L for North America. The decreases are being absorbed elsewhere in the enterprise (adjusted for the cost of sales support and distribution per unit, Canadian cars weren't priced to gouge any more than American cars were). So, in effect, the US is picking up the cost of Canadian price reductions. Thanks, guys.

POST 5Original post

I was speaking to another manufacturer yesterday and the consensus seems to be that most OEMs will be lowering their prices because of parity with the USD. The problem for many is that they have to wait for their next fiscal year to do so or else it throws their current budgets and targets way off. How much each will lower is a guessing game, but I doubt that we will see full parity pricing with the US. Hey ML, whatever happened to your car? Is it totally fixed?

Yeah, my car got totally fixed. Runs great. You won't believe that it took about 3 months. Worse thing is that 3 days after I finally got it, some jackass reversed into my parked car hitting the rear quarter panel. This means that it has to go back to the body shop for a few more days. Overall, the body shop spared no expense in fixing my car. Instead of just replacing the airbag, they replaced the entire steering wheel, etc. Once they were done, I brought the car to the dealer who did mechanical work and onfirmed alignment was great, etc. Every single detail I identified was fixed, no questions asked. It took a while but the results were very good.

POST 7Original post

that's probably because insurance was paying for it.... if they could, they'd be happy to replace the whole car, part by part!

Glad to hear that (about the getting it fixed)! Sorry to hear about the rear quarter panel! That sucks, BIG time!
