Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I love the new bodystyle 997, and I have been thinking about getting one. But first, I need to find out what I can get for my 996. 2001 996 C2 Tiptronic with only 25K miles Black/black Xenon lights Power seats 17" alloy Super clean and always garaged (one of my 3 cars so hardly driven) Kelly Bluebook has it valued at retail $48,000. Do our cars get sold at retail, private-party, or wholesale? Anyone want to make an offer? I'm in L.A., CA

Also, I've been test driving other cars - Jag XK, BMW M6, Range Rover Range Rover is luxurious and all, but being a single guy, Ranger Rover doesn't just cut it for me. I need a fast sports car. Having owned the 996 for all these years, 997 doesn't quite feel exciting as other similarly priced cars. Test drove the BMW M6 the other day. Being 6'2", I always thought of getting a long body style car like the BMW 6 series or the Jag XK. Just today, I deleted XK from my list. 1/3 of the owners complained about many little problems. I can't afford frequent visits to dealers, I have better things to do with my time. My review of M6: I can throw a few girls in the rear seats of an M6 (rear seats are bigger than our 911s) after partying from a night club, and still carry a couple of golf clubs in the trunk. M6 is not as charismatic as our 911s, but definitely more practical.
