Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Not sure how the offset calculator will be when I change diameter. Here is the offset calculator courtesy of Tim (I think). http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp I have a widebody....which of these would fit better? Also, will there be any issue with ABS or whatever else can get affected by going with 19's? Don't want any rubbing, and while the link says I may need spacers on the first link, I'm led to believe I won't as the wheels are wider with wider offset. Both links look the same, but scroll down to see the different offsets. I'm thinking the Cayman wheels might fit better? But they are only 10's on the back. Any help is appreciated. Current set up is stock 18's Front: 8/50mm Rear: 11/45mm http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-8-...spagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._promot_widget J

POST 2Original post

I would say the top ones but IMHO I do not like the wheels...they look Bial Vial dude

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Steven....that's some funny ****. I'm wondering if anyone else will understand that. I would like to get some wheels, but don't want to spend too much moola. Never intended to dump any money at all into wheels, in fact, I just may keep stock. But the price is good on these, and they are very strong, at least they say they are as good or stronger than stock. Any other great deals out there? I don't need a "brand" name, just something strong that won't bend easily. J

I am not aware of any decent wheel swithout spending moola. Might try Wheel Dynamics or places that are known for Porsche wheels vs. some place on ebay that knowone has heard of...so spend a little more to buy from a reputible place IMHO

Jon - As far as the 18" versus the 19" wheels go you still have to consider the width and offset. The first set of wheels have offsets for a Narrow body car. They would work, but you would have to add spacers in the rear. The second set are for a Wide body. The fronts would Extend 1mm compared to your current wheel. However, because the rear wheels are only 10" wide, they would Retract by 10mm compared to your current wheels. You might want to see if you can find some 11" rear wheels with an offset close to 45mm, or plan on adding 10mm spacers on the rear if you get these wheels. Since you have 4 wheel drive, if you do go with 19" wheels & tires, just make sure you maintain the relative relationship between the front and rear tires (roling diameter) compared to the current 18" tires. In other words, if the 19" tires increase the diameter by 4% (or whatever %) versus the current 18" tires, make sure the front and rear gain the same %. Here is a link to a tire size calculator to help you determine the differences between the 18" and 19" tires. COmpare the potential sizes for the fronts and do the same for the rears. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...bmit&reset=yes ALso, here is a link to a recent thread which discusses front/rear diameter on a C4/C4S. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/379845-matching-tire-diameters-important-for-c4s.html Hope this helps!

No spacers in the rear needed...10-15mm in the front though would be good. Depending on your alignment and rear camber, you may rub in the rear or need the fender rolled....I have 19x11 et 67 with 295/30/19s and they fit great, like a glove....not sure if I have another 1/2" of width.

Newport - I am not sure you caught the fact that Jon (JBRipps) has a C4S (a.k.a. wide body). He currently has 11" with 45mm offset on the rear and with the first set of wheels the rears are 11.5" with 67mm offset. If he goes with the first set of wheels he WILL need spacers because because the rears will RETRACT by 16mm and he will have 28mm LESS clearence on the inside of the fender well. Correct me if I am wrong, but if I recall correctly, you have a narrow body, which is why 11" with 67mm offset works for you on 19" wheels. I just want to make sure Jon gets the correct info from us, so he doesn't buy the wrong wheels (fitment wise) because of some incorrect info he got here.

POST 9Original post

I apologize, yes you are right I for some reason thought he had a NB car.....for a WB, he will need front and rear spacers, the 2nd set is for a Boxster and may be closer to the right offset except it will be 10" rears...not ideal for a 996.....and his fronts wont need a spacer either, just looking at the wheels again, its the rears that will need a spacer for the WB.....but someone already said that....

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to make sure we didn't totally confuse Jon with two different answers.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK.....this wheel business is just insane. I kinda wish they would just make a few diff. sets to make choosing easier. Tim...thanks for catching the issue above. And I really appreciate all the input. Any other ideas are appreciated. I originally considered this wheel company b/c their wheels are just as strong as OEM, etc. J

i bought my wheels and tires off ebay! Fast and perfect! Just make sure the seller gas a good rating!

Jon - you are welcome. If you like the look of the Carrera Sport wheels (which I really like) keep looking or contact the seller to see if they have the width/offsets to fit your C4S. Have you considered some GT3 aftermarket wheels? Those are sweet wheels. However, they are 18" wheels, but they are the same offsets as your wheels. Just a thought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...QQcmdZViewItem

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Haha Tim....yes...I'm eyeing those as well. One of my prior post has a reference to those same wheels at Wheel Dynamics. Apparently, they are really great guys over there....Carlos runs the joint, and enjoys a pretty nice reputation here on the List. I really like those as well...and the offsets are perfect....not easy to find. And the price is very reasonable when comparing them to OEM. J
